Burning Man scores 2-year permit from BLM

"After facing scant opposition, Burning Man organizers have secured a two-year permit to stage the counterculture festival on the Northern Nevada desert.

Bureau of Land Management officials said the gathering that has generated considerable controversy in the past prompted complaints from only a few people this year.

“Burning Man has an excellent track record,” said Dave Cooper of the BLM’s Winnemucca field office. “This group teaches and practices leave no trace and other large events can learn a lot from it.”

Burning Man founder Larry Harvey said it was the first time he has won a two-year permit since moving the festival from San Francisco to Nevada in 1990. He previously had to reapply for a permit every year.

“We’ve outlived the controversy,” he said Sunday. “We’ve become a cultural landmark in Nevada. Every time any objections were raised we’ve been responsible.”

What this means is.... the federal government isn't going to spend the money required to administrate all the meetings... and is going to pocket the money BRC, LLC is assessed.

Think of it as "less government intrusion."

Strike up the band for good old Republican thinking... less government.

Don't celebrate too soon... BRR/Maia, aka Dr. Evil still has his secret plan! We're all falling right into his trap. He wants us to be happy about this... and he'll confuse us with more hidden agenda propaganda until we run ourselves right out of the playa only he has rights to.

There are no discounts from the government...
just like no crying in baseball...

your tax return every year is just a small portion of what you pay in... so, actually, your government is spending your money for things you actually want yet don't exactly realize you asked for them...
