Merry Mysticah to all (Christmakwanzanukka)

Post by wilks » Sun Dec 27, 2009 9:48 am

For many artists, creators and those who are long time Burners and who are not traditionally or conventionally religious, 'Christmakwanzanukka' really has little relevance.

‘Happy Holidays’ and ‘Season’s Greetings’ are more about making retail profits than a core part of our traditional family values and much of the holiday cheer is veneer thin.

We think it’s time to make a new set of expectations and create a new annual celebration.

Check out the link for info about what we have been celebrating this year.

http://mysticah.org/

PS it's non-denominational, non-exclusive, very simple and actually very burner inspired in concept

From the site...

The 3rd day after the shortest day winter solstice is December 25th.

This is the day we celebrate the new tradition of 'Mysticah'

Mysticah celebrates:

The people in our life; family and friends

The beauty of planet earth

The turning of the season and the new year ahead

Mysticah is not a religion, it is not a cult, it is not organized. It is not 'owned' by any one person or group of people.

Mysticah simply represents a new common set of seasonal holiday traditions that resonate with the things that are important in your life.

Cool, Like it.
Similar to Festivus, but without the airing of Grievances.

Very similar to Xmas, except without the shopping spree.
