Happy New Year, everyone.
:::Brings in case of tequila, limes, salt, and a few shotglasses:::
Resolution #1: I'm developing a taste for tequila from La Rojena, Tequila, Jal.
One resolution down, I've drunk more today than in all of last year...
Resolution #2: I resolve to strut my own stuff more this year, peacocks raise their feathers for a reason...peahens.
On a separate note, I got my letter from the state rehab office that says I'm permanently disabled and eligable for benefits. I see my mental health doc Monday for a new prescription on CMSP( which I get from Wal-mart at no cost to me.), and I'll stop by the bus company for my ID and unlimited senior/disabled monthly bus pass (which the state will pay $30 for first 2 months). My county doc put me on Nifedipine (which is covered by my CMSP insurance card) for my heart instead of Amilor (which is not covered by my CMSP insurance card and cost $9/month). I apply Tuesday for the yearly county brownbag program and the federal gleaners program. I need to reapply for foodstamp/ EBT card this month, every 3 months...Why can't we apply every 6 or 12 months?
I'm thinking of applying for general assistence but I think I might have more than the $2,000 limit on personal property. Depreciation will be my friend. I'm allowed a car and house, everything else they count. At least I have a roof, a lot more than the local homeless that are living in their cars. The car is the last thing that most people give up.
Oh, and I thank the burner, or burners unknown, who sent me some cash for Christmas. I got my water bill paid up to date...your kindness is amazing...I'll pay it forward. Last year was the worst ever, but now it's over, Yaaahhh.

Nice to see things are coming together for you, Oldguy.
I feel compelled to share a tidbit was confirmed this week by the psychiatrist I'm seeing about Caleb's suicide. I was asking him specifically about the medication that Caleb was taking and how it reacts with alcohol. Turns out that MOST anti-depressants are not to be taken with alcohol in your system at all, ever. Not meaning to put the kibosh on your party but you may want to consider this information. The doc says that alcohol completely reverses any positive effect of an anti-depressant.

Thanks Deb. Yeah I know, I was a med/surg nurse for ten years.
I last took Paxil 20 on Dec. 7th because I didn't have the 9 dollars for a refill. I am sure that after 24 days the med was metabolized. Monday my doc will prescribe me either Prozac or Celestra which are covered by my CMSP card. I was offered free Zoloft 50's at the Mental health facility Wednesday but declined because I knew of the change Monday...
I've had this bottle of booze since 1996: time, attitude, season and instinct showed me it was time to celebrate. Really, I haven't touched this bottle much in 13 years. I drank 2 shots yesterday, 4 shots today.
Your concern is touching. Don't worry, be happy.

Right on, Deb! Alcohol itself is a depressant and must not be taken with physco active drugs like antidepressants
Having once been married to an alcholic for 15+ years I have had close experience with this unfortunate, devastating and dreadful effect.
We did have a wonderful daughter, now 33 and a few months away from earning her PhD in Geo Chemistry. (Words of a proud papa)
Good seeing YGMIR, his buddy and fellow Burner, Looney Tunes, (another Marty) and his new MV yesterday. Was the highlight of my day! Rock on YG!

Cold, cold, cold here and more of the same for the week, twenty to thirty.
And it was so warm in the afternoon of new year's eve, I shut the heat off.
It is true I'm just getting up from new year's eve this morning.
We now have a mayor that doesn't constantly need a twitch doctor, so that's boring.
There's a great video of a tennessee chase scene involving a coke machine dragged behind a pickup. (He didn't escape)
Lots of sparks.
And some brilliant football stars were arrested with a gun with altered serial numbers!!!
Who does that?
I've never even heard of anyone being arrested for that before.

well, at least you can keep busy there...........hahah
yeah, altered numbers are fairly common in the stolen goods market.........and, it's an extra felony, to add to receiving stolen property, if they pinch someone.
Makes for better plea bargaining and bribes, to get high profile athletes off of charges that'd put us away for decades...........

Gold medal to ygmir for finding another cool espresso maker. Coffee here is always an adventure. I like your new vehicle. Gas engine? Great roof and looks comfy.
Today I am going visiting assisted living facilities with my Mom to get her a little closer to us than Washington. She's excited about being in a community with activities and a social whirl. It's not a new story, but it is new to me. I thought of Frost's Oven Bird "He knows in singing not to sing/The question he frames in all but words/Is what to make of a diminished thing."
Did a little fishing this morning. I never get tired of this picture.

It's rare for thieves to alter any serial numbers because it attracts immediate attention.
I think having a removed or altered serial number is a crime equal to having stolen property in the first place.
Worse on a gun.
Much harder to plead ignorance with a poorly altered number on something.
Cops almost never check numbers here, without some reason to do so.
I have only heard of altered numbers on cars, when the number is carefully changed.
We had someone looking for a replacement for their stolen car that found it with their belongings still in it, but the number plates changed, on a car lot.
Most professionally stolen cars get parted though.
These cars had been transferred many times in a very short time.
Doesn't sound like good career management for a player.
That school has a bad record of football players committing murder and other crimes.

If I could find a huge plexiglass orb, it'd make a cool rolling fishbowl..........
put A/C on top with a genny.........yeehaw.....
I went through the assisted living/nursing home thing.......it can be tough, and emotional.
Take it easy, keep your eyes open, and, don't be afraid to seek help and counsel, early, before it gets to daunting...........
