Just Remember, You saw it Here First.

the playa has been littered with technology advances ever since it became the darling of the digirati..

well here's just another example...

remember those ping pong balls in an array that started wowing burners a few years back and has come to be known as Cubitron?

well, it's the basis for a new generation of tv's coming down the pipe in the not too distant future involving 3-d and x-y-z axis pixels that will allow the viewer not only a sense of depth but 360 degree rotation as well.

Princess Leia popping up and begging obi-Wan for help is just a couple years away folks.

What have YOU seen on the playa that has advanced into a mainstream or defense tech, that started out as something cool to do or see while on LSD?

For 2 years ESPN has been testing 3D tech...they announced today they are rolling out a new network, ESPN 3D this year. So the 3D TV's Simon is referring to will have content available for them shortly.

Today's press release is found here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=4796555

Simon's article mentioned ESPN as well.

I think that these still require 3D glasses.

[quote]As with 3D cinema, the viewing of 3D TV in the home will require special glasses. Cable delivered 3D video works equally well with displays using active shutter glasses and with displays using passive polarized glasses,â€

This is gonna make camera insertion pornography real enjoyable to watch.
We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.
