Just bought my very first BM tickets this afternoon. Decided to take the plunge at last. More than likely I will be coming out solo to BRC this August, and while I'm ok with striking it out alone, I would be interested in knowing if their were similarily-minded individuals who might want to a) road trip out there, b) camp out together c) both.
Go ahead and vet me if you wish... I don't bite and I play well with others. Easy-going, adaptive, non-judgemental by nature. Reliable, respectful and resourceful... but I'm also well-read and traveled and of course I can cut loose & recreate with the best of them.
I have a feeling this is going to be an absolute blast and an eye-openign and life changing experience for me. I can't wait for it to take place.
Any takers who want to compart or impart their BM experience with me? I am all ears...
No reasonable request refused, but serious replies only, please!

I am also a BM virgin looking for newbies with whom to share the experience. (I am renting a RV out of Vegas that sleeps 5 and so far, my less adventerous friends have been noncommittal.) I’m also a single, hetero M looking forward to the art, camaraderie of similarly minded folks, altered states and women of BM. I’ve just started doing research and would love to put together some kind of artwork in conjunction with the Heaven theme in order to more fully experience the event. Although I’m a lawyer by day, I just returned from Bonnaroo, a 3-day music festival with 100,000 other crazies. Contact me if you wish.

Yo BurningSteve! What Up Bro?
I am also a Bman newbie and was also at Bonnaroo too last weekend! Fortunately, I live in Chattanooga, just about an hour from the event. I had a pretty awesome time, but after three and half days, I was worn out and had had enough. I left Sunday afternoon before David Byrne and Trey.
Being so fucking hot at Bonnaroo has gotten me a little nervous about being at Bman for 6-7 days. Granted, the humidity in Tennessee this time of year is nearly unbearable and there will be virtually no humidity in the Black Rock Desert. Still, hot is hot. At Bonnaroo, I was sweltering as soon as the sun came up (even w/ my big-ass cabin tent - w/o rainfly - under a shade canopy) and sweltering in the day time to the point that sweat was running down my ass-crack (probably TMI, I know, but it was really fucking hot!). So, I'm thinking that an air-conditioned RV would be the most comfy way to go at Bman.
Anyway, I'm also planning on flying into Vegas and then driving up to Bman. I lived in Vegas for three years and still have buddies there. I was planning on shipping all my gear out and then renting a minivan or SUV for the drive up to Bman.
If your noncommital slacker buddies decide not to come, and you're looking for RV partners, let's discuss (via PM/email) the possibility of throwing in together. Sounds like you and I might be fairly like-minded.
I don't have any really annoying habits (that I'm aware of anyway), and I'm real easy to get along with. I do like to verbally "poke at" people a little though (at Bonnaroo for example - my buddy Dan (talking to some girls): "...now, I'm not a supermodel or anything..." My response: "You said a mouthful there, Dan!"). It's all in good fun though, never mean-spirited. I can take what I dish out too.
Also, as far as a joing a camp goes,

What Tears said is absolutely true. I signed up on the main BM website to volunteer for the lamplighters and they have welcomed me with open arms.Tears wrote:...you are welcome to join myself and my theme camp (the lamp lighters) we are always welcoming newbies!
...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...
