Actually I am building the temple this year, with a little help from YOU! It will be made of popsicle sticks, tongue depressors, and wooden clohespins. Starting off as the size of a large shoe box, and hidden somewhere out in the deep Playa. Those lucky enough to stumble on to it, will have the opportunity to write a message on one of the above-mentioned items and glue it on to the "temple." Then place your hand inside the box and pull out the special prize inside!
In 2010, all crying at the Temple will be limited to two tears per person, which will be duly collected in a bucket. On Burn night the contents of the bucket will made into Margaritas and distributed amongst the crowd!

Edit: I was just being silly, but after reading this over I think it's actually not a bad idea for an art project... Hmmm....

Man… you made me simultaneously laugh out loud and cringe with that one. Nicely done.lonestoner916 wrote: In 2010, all crying at the Temple will be limited to two tears per person, which will be duly collected in a bucket. I suppose some sort of refrigeration would be necessary, and you'd have to start off with a base liquid in the bucket, say a shot or two of Tequila...
The hard part would be collecting the tears from people who don't wish to participate... "Hey, YOU, c'mere!"

I think that thing with the coffee stirrers is always set up at center camp. I seem to remember adding a stirrer or two the last couple of years, at least.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I'm looking to volunteer to help do something on it ... so far, no hints. I'm trying to get info out of the ARTery people but it's slow-going.dousias wrote:Anyone know who will be doing the temple this year?

Looks very cool! Apparently my rumor of a few months ago was incorrect. I did say it was a rumor and I can't even remember where I heard it from now. Love the design!! Good luck Temple Folk!!
A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Temple of Flux
from the website:
The mass of our cities have evolved over time, rising like mountains and spreading like the deserts. We look to them as places of permanence and wonder, where we inhabit the urban canyons carved by roads of commerce. But city differs little from the geological features in which we once dwelled and metropolis too changes with time, shifting, growing, crumbling and eroding. Like Canyons, the city too, will someday disappear altogether.
The Temple stands not as a habitable building, echoing known structures, churches and mosques from our histories, but as a counter-monument; a relational space, that references city and natural structure in a fluid and fluctuating form. Referencing our impetus to create structure as well as the need to relate to our environment the Temple of Flux welcomes you to take respite and find strength at its feet. It beckons you to journey its pathways and follow its sensuous lines as they arc into the air.
