Hahaha, very good point! Maybe I will just have to just play it by ear and see where it goes. If I end with no pants for some reason well then so be it. Of course that could be a good thing and a bad thing. Depending on the way you look at it. lol

Deep End is no longer a camp. Some camps move around, others are fairly static over time. Except, that it's always in flux. Camps move, camps reorganize, camps change their name, camps merge, camps fall to a million shards of moop.
I'm not sure that there is any "Wisdom of the Playa," but if there is, one tenet is: The only constant is change.

Thanks for the info Cryptofishist. Thisisthatwhichis, I am taking it that the comfort and joy camp is one that you do not want to be at? Or is it a gay camp? Which is why he made the stroll over there comment?

Comfort and Joy is a predominantly gay camp. ibdave is a happily married straight man. I don't either he or TITWI is a homophobic bastard (and that's not something I'm particularly shy calling people on) so I think it was a bit of straight male jibbing, and not to worry. You, of course, make your own choices based on what works for you--and based on your possible connections as well.

I'd make it more elegant if I hadn't had a low grade migraine all day.

ah ha, I see. I kind of figured that was what he was inferring. All in good fun I am sure. But I can see the humor in it now with a little more background info. I am not one to be homophobic. However, I do believe in respecting someones wishes. If someone hits on you guy or girl and you wish to be left alone. And you politely let he/she know that. And they continue to hit on you then there may be issues. But I find it flattering when I get hit on by people guy or gal. Everyone has their own tastes, or whatever floats your boat sort of speak. Is the view I take on that one.

Thanks for the words of advice. I tend to have pretty thick skin when it comes to sarcasm, and humor at my expense. If you can't laugh at your self or with others you are in for a boring time. Well I am really looking forward to meeting everyone this year. I have read about the camp message system, where you can leave a message for someone at burning man. Can someone explain this a little more for me please? Is it easy to use? How do you retrieve messages? etc.

Hello schad00. Just read through the post and have a few things to say. Last year was my first burn and youll def learn a lot real quick. We came in during a dust storm and parked first spot we found. Turned out to be in the middle of the lamp lighter camp. All lovely and nice people, but I agree with what was said earlier, prob best not to camp in someones camp, although it can be hard to tell at times. With that being said, we called ourselves the Interloper Camp, and will register ourselves this year. So if you get lonely, Interloper Camp is welcome to all! I also wouldnt join a project my first year. Youll be so busy running around not having any idea whats going on, that the thought of responsibility will be the last thing on your mind. Either way, if youre planning on going, then I cant imagine not having a good time on the playa. And yes, be prepared to see lots of nakedness :) Also, theres TONS of info on the site about what 1st timers should know and bring. But the playa is wonderful like that, all you really need is a ticket, a ride there, and a bike for transportation. Those should be your priorities, the rest will just come together.

Cool, that is good to hear. How do you know what land is up for grabs and what is reserved? Are camp areas marked off? Will it be on the map in the welcome guide? Bike, check got one in mind I am going to use. Ticket, in a couple of days! Ride there, still working on this one I don't know what to do as I know my car would not make it there. I am currently networking with some locals around my area to try and get a way up. Otherwise I was thinking about taking a train up to SF and then taking the shuttle that goes form SF to BM. Has anyone tried this before? I am also registered on the BM rideshare.

I guess that only people who have theme camps get maps. ;) The best way to get a look at one is to locate a theme camp (preferably at night) and pitch your tent right next to it. The first thing you see in the morning will be the map, and a calloused finger pointing out where you can camp. ;)

You'll get a map in the mail.

Stag Camp only takes 100% RSR people. No Drama queens No Sparkle Ponies, No MOOP and LNT. We haven't really started recruiting yet but if you search in the past 3 years there are threads that chronicle our evolution and will give you an idea of what we are about. I'm not linking them here because people who have the ambition to go do things tend to fare much better on the playa than those who are spoon fed how to get things done. It is a camp protection thing.[/quote]

Motzy, I would like to second that stag takes no sparkle ponies...sparkle ponies can go hang out at the sparkle pony coral. Ok...that's enough. See you on the playa.

It will be great to camp with you in Stag Camp again C. I'm serious about that "mix tape." Definitely want your kind of music on the playa.

Oh --- Everybody knows Unicorns don't exist!

As for the Sparkle Pony. Heard em up and head em out! Yehaw!

Good... because I don't think I could deal with another annoying glittery creature taking up space and violating the laws of preconceived reality. Not to say anything of all the shiny moop that I would be picking up from them... Just say'n. :D

So the year we had the giant double rainbow means all the unicorns got together and took a giant dump over BRC?

Well that's just rude.

I like to think of rainbows as a wether related event. Totally unrelated to the supposed unicorn. :) I also don't believe god is peeing on me when it rains.

Why is it unicorn when so obviously it should be unihorn?
Isn't it all to do with horn and nothing to do with corn?
