Re: A question on swords...
[quote="Sage"]So if I come to this years burn I really want to go in my full samurai garb that I have. Of course I would love to include my whole accompaniment of katana and wakasashi with this but then I think about the legal issues here. Like I know for a fact that guns are outlawed and that is perfectly understandable. Now I have seen tons of photos of the burns past and I have seen a few pics with guys walking with what appear to be swords belted on but I don't know if they were real or "peace tied" or whatever.
Come in full Samurai garb!!! That is what my crew call - SKLANG! I'll start at topic on it and large beasts might fly. Playa knights!

Hopefully this is practice sparring or boffer combat with the proper protective gear? Live steel isn't to be taken lightly.

In my opinion, if your good at swinging, and returning a swing: the Claymore, or the German Flamberge.Wolfe wrote:Edzz, the best sword is the one you trained to use . . .edzz wrote:What is the best sword in fighting? I'm more familiar with german pronunciation. Ah well. Watched some show about the Norse god Thor. Went on a boat ride with some dude named Hemur? Got in a fight with a big snake, and was pissed off when the snake ran away. Or slithered... not really sure if that applies to huge snakes but...ygmir wrote:a crash course?.........Hopefully, not a "shot in the dark"......(sorry, I couldn't resist)TomServo wrote:Is your name pronounced He-mur? Nope, not true. Camp mate is a fight choreographer and had his "costume" piece confiscated. He was able to pick it up on the way out. No edge but a 5+ foot long claymore just looked too intimidating for the LEO's to let him wear it, although it was in a scabbard on his back and not unsheathed at any time.Shambala wrote:I am pretty sure that you can bring and wear a sword as part of your outfit. Be careful if you pull it out and make it a weapon---it might get you arrested. There are a lot of things that can be used as weapons and considered dangerous. As long as you are not threatening with it, you should be fine.
