That's a hippy and that's a raver and that's a........

Earthdance 2008: I was sitting with a friend watching the people pass by in the camping area. I hadn't quite decompressed from my first burn and it was comforting to see the little puffs of playa dust drift in the clear air every time one of us set up a tent. The bands & DJs that year scanned the map on musical tastes and we were commenting on how many different types of festival goers there were as they passed by----ravers, trustafarians, hippies, pirate punks, hip hop kids and then this tall black Goddess walked by and the whole street just held their breath....she was AMAZINGLY beautiful---tall combat boots, little kilt with utility belt, leather vest with bindings everywhere. She walked alone with her head held high as pure royalty only could---and nobody you would want to fuck with either.

After she passed and me & my friend continued on he said, "And that? That was a "Burner"!"

i attempt to blur the lines; bondage bracelets, tie dye shirt, freakish dyed hair, tutu over tight jeans, skate shoes.. keep 'em guessing.
History does not repeat itself, though it often rhymes.

i felt the exact same thing at symbiosis seeing all of the playa stained cars and dust-puffing tents as the folks from home would drift in and about the camping area.

Which Earthdance were you at? I was at the one at Arcosanti in Arizona: same thing happened. Us burners exchanged a lot of knowing smiles. Somehow, you can just tell.

The Goddess you just described sounds like a woman I greeted with at the 2009 Burn who went by the name AlphaPussy. Did your Goddess have a whip? The second shift of Greeters I worked with AlphaPussy she brought out her whip……….I would describe AlphaPussy as a BURNER……a yummy yummy BURNER………………
