I've been attending since 2001 and my shelter has gotten progressively better throught the years but I still long for the perfect structure.
My dilemma is I drive down from Canada and am limited on space. (Like 2 people, all the gear and bikes in a Golf, limited space)
I am limited on $$$ but plan on continuing to attend so I don't mind spending a bit of cash.
Any suggestions?

Happiness is like a butterfly,
the more you chase it, the more it will elude you,
but if your turn your mind to other things,
it softly comes and sits on your shoulder.

First you need a good tent. If you don't mind spending more then $400 and less then $600 then I would look into a high quality canvas tent! My four season tent cost more then twice that much and I only use it about once every two years! They're cooler then nylon tents. They're heavy and strickly for car camping. The Kirkland tents are designed in and for the great basin. There are light colored models and the the tents in this price range have alot of cooling window space. Best of all they, they can withstand winds up to 70 mph and more. One year we had winds clocked over 100, but luckily it occured after the event, but you never know. The windows zip up to keep the dust out. Go to Kirkhams web site at:
http://www.kirkhams.com/ Order yours now before they sell out in mid- late july before they start working on their cabin tents for the fall hunting season.
Or you can buy a cheap $100 cabin walmart special, they never make it through the BM week, but you will get a refund and that can be a good thing!
If you are going to attend for the long haul, you need a shade shelter to cover the tent to be able to sleep in the daytime or just sit around more comfortable. More then not just it hit the hottest part of the day, the winds die and so do you wishing for a little breeze. Do a search on this site and you will find every imaginable kind of shade shelters.
