dust mask??

I know this has been asked before. But for us newbies: What, from your collective experience, would be an effective yet comforable dust mask to wear? Thanks.

If you know it has been asked before, then why don't you read those answers?

Obviously, as with, well, anything the "best" thing for you depends ON you.

Your needs, wants, budget, facial size, etc.

And YOU already asked it.

It's been talked about. I used 3M sanding and dust filters with the valve, and they work. Faily comfortable. I kept them in my pack for the whiteout times. Otherwise used the cloths, like bandana and keffiya. Bandana is cool, but less effective. The Keffiyah, an Arab head wrap, despite being used forever, is only marginally effective. I have seen some rubber, cannister filter masks that the users swear by. I'm not sure playa dust will kill you, at least not next year, though if you have any breathing problems, do your homework.

The Keffiyah, an Arab head wrap, despite being used forever, is only marginally effective.

If you wet them, and then wring them out before wearing them
they work much better. When the dust is over, soak them and
squeeze the water/playa out of them. When the cloth is damp,
it molds to your face much better, and blocks the playa from
getting through; yes, you can breathe through the fabric when
damp.
