a question on bull whips...
I want to bring a bull whip. The rules don't say anything about bull whips. They're cool to carry and make a great, sound barrier breaking crack when snapped correctly. Not only would it make a great addition to my costume, or what ever you call the clothes I will be wearing, but it would really help keep my campmates in line. What do you think? A bull whip...?

I have personally seen a participant whose burn ended in a back seat ride out of town, for using a bullwhip near campmates (BLM arrived before Rangers or voice-of-reason). Remember that as well as being cool on your costume it may also be a dangerous weapon. The same would apply to samurai swords (I have a friend who does a "samurai watermelon" routine), medieval battle-axes, and other weapons-that-look-cook.
What goes around, comes around.

Even though it wasn't in the list... The whole point would be to use it near campmates. Looking cool is only 'cause it cracks cool. You'd think that with fire cannons going over your head, a bullwhip would be nothing. But if BLM is gonna' be a poor sport... I may rethink this. Damn.

I brought one last year..........AND LOST IT! (or stolen by campmates who don't know how to sort recycling properly no matter how many times I told them!!!!)

It had sentimental value too.

You can be dumb with it, you can certainly be stupid with it, just not both at once!
Build one out of Kevlar braided rope. Make sure it has a solid handle like an aluminum tube. Soak with lantern fuel. Whip it lit on fire.
Now it is setting apropriate.
When you crack a fire whip there is also a big fireball BOOM.
Much fun.
A friend of mine has built one, and I LOVE seeing him crack that baby. It's spectacular. That first crack produces a brilliant fireball off the end, after that, it's just mostly a pretty snake of fire with great sound effects. he gets a couple dozen good cracks off, and then a final snap puts it out. Beautiful, and certainly attention grabbing!

Ditto on the seen it, loved it immensly.
I would do it myself but I don't wanna aciddentally take out my one good eye.
It definately isn't as dangerous as swinging around a big ball and chain, on fire, of course, and that is allowed in the inner circle.
So just bring it !!!
Images of Den of Iniquity, Temple of Atonement and that Suspension camp come to mind. Nothing beats the welts across the back left by a skillfully wielded bullwhip.
Um, or so I read.... on the, um, Internet....
The learning curve for a bullwhip is damn steep.
Anyone without the experience should go have
fun out by the trash fence.
Bullwhips can lay skin open with no amount of effort.
The people you have seen at TOA have the skill due
to their dedication and practice with the item. To wield
one without that level of expertise is an invitation to
injury.
Again, please play at the trash fence, or leave it at home.
