We are roughly about 6 1/2 months out from this go around, if everything pans, should be a goodtime & a lot more kick-ass looking COFFEE CAMP (electronic posters coming in the near future...)
Nice. Welcome back!

I'm bleary eyed,,,,,,,,,,,carving on a tombstone all day...........a whole "letter" written to the parents.........sweet, but, jeeze.........carving all those letters makes me cross eyed.........

next, I have to carve a desert scene, with mom and dad on horses, noses touching, waiting to "ride into the sunset".............

My hand is so tired from cutting...........good thing I have two.

That sounds like a hell of a nice piece of work, Ygmir.

I ended up wrong about the snow coming through, by the way.
Got snowbound out of town.
Next wave coming through soon.

Thanks, YG, for the lovely sight this early Sunday morning. Nice to wake up to!

Now for a bit of coffee to defrost old Gyre and get me going. We'll just amble over to the corner booth and nurse our coffee 'till some of you other "slug a beds" wander in with some ot the delish delights you are so famous for.

BTW Saw a wonderful exhibit at the SF Asian Art Museum yesterday. They had a featured exhibit of the art and culture of Shanghai. My son was writing a review for Public Television so we went with him. Wonderful ceramics! If you are in the area, I highly reccomend it. The Museum itself was formerly the SF Public Librtary that was converted to the Asian Art Museum when the new SF library was built a few years ago. It is a wonderful building in addition to the incredible collection it houses.

Plan to make some pots this afternoon, inspired by some of the work that I saw yesterday. We'll see how that alll turns out!

Spring seems to be springing!!! Yeaaaaa! Means the Burn gets closer. Need a good dose of that dusty heat!!!

Thanks, Marty.

I found mango ice cream out of town and since it was so cold, I filled the trunk and brought some back.
Didn't need a cooler.
Ice cream selection bites here.

Have some mango with peppermint ice cream!
They work together.
And maybe some pumpkin pie?

*strolls in*

Hey Marty, Gyre.............how you guys doin?

dang, that snow, Gyre........I'm sure, though, you had all the emergency and survival supplies and equipment with you.........

Thanks for the coffee, Marty.
Your museum tour sounds great!
I went to the "National Museum" in Taipei once............holy gamolee, what stuff!!
Seems the ruling party, when fleeing Mao, et al, took most of the national treasures and antiquities with them.........super old, beautiful things.........
It's a huge building, and, my friend says they rotate the "stock" from underground vaults, so it's always changing...........
Asian art can be so beautiful.

I'm sort of a "cold weather" person, so, am trying to soak in these last days and weeks of winter............

Maybe that's why they dropped me off at my stop instead of having to go all the way into town and back.

I remember seeing a newsreel at the movies years ago of Chaing Kai Shek and his men loading tons of treasures from mainland museums and vaults onto trucks to take them to the docks to load on ships bound for Taiwan. His wife, Madam Chaing was long a powerful influence after he died and was largely responsible for US hostile foreigh policy toward China in favor of Taiwn for many years.

That's why you got to see that exhibit, and also why China believes that Taiwan is a part of China and not a separate independent country.

Very foggy here this morning, but should be a fine day for some tennis in a couple of hours.

yeah, it's quite the story......my friend married a minor officials daughter, so, I got the "scoop"....at least from her POV.......hahaha, they're all so different.

Funny thing, too:
Taiwan, until just recently, thought of China as a "runaway province", and, that, "they'd" go back and take over, once the commies leave.

but, the exhibit, was spectacular.....hand carved, one piece, 12' long jade dressing screens.......gold inlaid "monk skull bowls", all sorts of unbelievable work, some, they say, took generations to complete.......

Does anybody else like soup for breakfast? I'd like to try bacon corn chowder. As a simulated campfire recipe, I'll be cooking the corn over the fire. Maybe drop a poached, or fried egg on top. Bannock on the side. Oh, just noticed the steak and taters in the picture... looks like pot luck.

...still waiting for the sun to come over the back yard ridge????

Hopefully as nice as yesterday! was supreme!!!

Waiting for another arborist to get another estimate on a tree to go down....
I hate losing trees!

This spring we're gonna have to plant 3 to make up for the 2 we've lost.

Need to try and get Titwi's truck started today, to move the camper over to OEDicks, my Jimmy truck wont start (need to move it to get to the camper. think the battery is dead???beyond dead kind of dead...luckily still on warranty.
I think the dodge truck can pull the equip trailer out of the way, with its silly version of a tow package...not a tow, just a ball on the bumper????

Of the five trucks the silly 2x4 and the playa frog are the only trucks that run????WTF???
