Glass tupperware

Post by zyrkaloi » Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:44 am

I use glass (pyrex) containers for my food because I don't like the BPA's in plastic. I heard that you can't bring glass, is this true?

You can bring a glass house out there if you want to, just don't leave a single shard of it behind when you leave.

Unless you're smoking your plastic containers (and hey....I don't judge) BPA's are harmless. First of all, BPA's are only used to make hard plastic (like water bottles.) Tupperware only uses BPA's for microwave/heat resistant containers.....mainly in their commercial kitchen products (think cafeteria containers.) The "disposable" variety doesn't have them. Even the containers that do have them have very small amounts.

I assume you're not going to drink from a glass water bottle on the playa, so if you're that concerned you can buy BPA free water bottles.

My suggestion? Toughen up and stop looking for any way that chemistry can kill you.
