Burning Man Kilt?

Shit, why not? We should register a Tartan for Burning Man...as far as I know, only one or two American organizations have registered Tartans.

What would a burningman tartan look like...hrm so if I remember correctly you have to use a tartan that isnt already is use correct?

Why the hatred for utilikilts? I find regular and utilikilts fantastic and sexy but each in their own way.

I have long wanted a kilt, but the price of the Utilikilts is as much as a basic plasma cutter. Kilt vs. Plasma cutter? Hmmm...choices, choices. Not really, I'll take the plasma cutter....

Sewed my own with a Clan McJoannes not so worsted wool. But worked great on the playa. Would never take scottish wool on the playa.

Find a wool blend tartan, and Ill sew you one for enough beer...or teach you to fold a great kilt for free.

THE POINT (in my strange mind)..IS I THINK WE NEED A TARTAN! ....get some other country to make it in worsted wool.....

The vast majority of plaid, non-pants items worn aren't "real" kilts.

Pleats and plaid in a skirt do not a kilt make.

if ,"real kilts", weren't plaid, had cargo pockets, and made out of a strong cotton not wool,,, i may like them....... sorry tom but wool, heat, sweat and gypsum make for an uncomfortable burn....

They're actually pretty comfortable out their. Provided you aren't wearing anything underneath.

Having made kilts, I know what a kilt is. Its a skirt with a hell of a lot of fabric. Don't really care what anyone wears, especially @ BM!

There are thousands of Tarans registered in the US, hundreds of Universities, NYFD, Boston FD, Boeing, Intel,

To register correctly you will need permission of the license holder (BMORG) to register a tartan in their name.

Yeah, I found that out. I think the book I had read was either really old, or just not accurate.

Yeah I understand the legal stuff.

Haven't really given a whole lot of thought, to tartans and kilts in a while. Just was inspired by the wording of another post and thought it would be cool to register one.

I wore a palin black woolen short kilt last year and it was very comfy. I've looked at and even sized utilikilts but havent spent the money on one yet, might this year though.

Tom, Burning Man 1...maybe at night but I don't think I could look at that pattern all day...unless I just rollup in a ball in my dome....wow, that's bright!
