Planning a Gay wedding on the Playa

my boy and I are thinking on getting married (we know is not legal yet, but at least symbolic), and what a better place to do it that on the playa... when we went for first time last year we saw some weddings here and there, and they looked pretty intense and nice... we also saw some camps called weddings something or so... but didn't put that much attention to them... anyway, does anyone know of any of those wedding camps? or people who do weddings at the playa? and whoch is the procedure?? should we contact them before we go, or is it just a show up and get married thing? oopss. almost forget... we want it to be a naked wedding.. other of the main reasons why we want to do it at BRC... any info would be appreciated... and who knows.. you may be invited to the "honey moon"

My suggestion would be to group up with one of the bigger gay camps and organize a ceremony for couples that want to do a ceremony at BM. Comfort and Joy http://playajoy.org has a big tent or you could do it out at the Temple (which might be trickier) but I'd think working with the resources of a camp or village could turn it into a bigger thing.

I'm the volunteer Burning Man Wedding Coordinator (really!).

Yes, there are "wedding camps" on the Playa. Usually, you don't have to make an appointment, you just show up. When the 2010 Theme Camp list is up on the BM website, you can look up the camps that are offering weddings and contact them for the deets. Two Lanterns is one camp that I know of.

Or, you can do your own thing! Anything, anytime, anyplace on the Playa. If you would like an officiant, contact me at weddings (at) burningman (dot) com and I will put you in touch wiht someone after March!

I heard that any type of gayity is banned this year as is nudity. As far as marriage, why in the world would you want to do that?

If you find someone to perform the ceremony beforehand, choosing where you'd like the ceremony might wait until you are on the playa. There may be a wonderful piece of art on/at/in which you'd find inspirational.
