Just how cold at night?

Mud Storm!
(from inside an RV) I'm not going out there its raining Dusts and Muds out there!

I bet the rain would help keep the dust down the next day though.

cold is deffinately a subjective term.

my wife is a freeze baby. she pulls out the thermals and heavy artillery at night.

i had to put on a shirt.

another lady camp mate had to wear two pairs of fishnet stalkings.

the other lady and I grew up in Minnesota where -40 windchill is common.
my wife grew up in Oregon where +30 is a cold winter day.

ive tried looking into an alminac to look up record and average temperatures of Gerlach to no avail. so i loaded a toolbar/mini app thing on the desktop of my laptop. it tells me the current temperature here in Oregon, and the current temp in Gerlach.

oddly enough, Gerlach seems to be consistently colder than Oregon through the winter :-\

but i think the reason that it seems cold in the night, is the dramatic temperature difference from the day. in the city, sometimes the temperature difference is 20 degrees or so from night and day. but in the desert, there are no trees and buildings to retain heat throughout the night so the difference can be double that of the city.

That would be nice to live somewhere that cools down at night....out here, night just means the heat is radiating UP at you
