Wondering

Post by Dad » Sat Mar 13, 2010 4:18 pm

I am freaking. Yeah, been writing or at least doing some changed music since walking the playa for the 1st time in 2009. http://www.reverbnation.com/patguerre been trying to do some art but not sure were to turn. http://guerrearts.artspan.com/. I hate this crap but hoping maybe a few will get it. Go see it and maybe, just maybe, understand my reasoning to throw this crap out there. I am asking, I suppose, for all you for encouragement. Maybe to show or let us find your work. I am freaking my family. Truly need some help with nothing more than words and criticism of works I rarely get. Please feed me feed back wether good or bad. I am dying not having it. Truly dying emotionally.

This looks like a lot of work.
How has it been changing?
Why are people freaking out?

You have some good work there.

Mentally stressed and reaching for sounds of color and not paint.

Unemployed and so many feel I should find that great 9-5 and just don't get that I can't do that any more after 35 years of it. They just don't get the art thing. Sometimes I wonder if I do.

Have you stopped painting or just taking a different approach to it all?

Some of your work reminds me of Burton Callicott's.
He changed his style drastically through his career.

Burton Callicott started his career during the depression, and it still amazes me that he persisted with it.
His papers include letters written all over the country seeking work as an artist during this time.

This piece is called 'The Gleaners'
depicting people collecting coal along railroad tracks during the hardest times.

These are far from easy times for artists, but until it get much worse, there will still be enough work for some.

You all just Fu#$ing Rock my world. Thanks for images. Several of my greats, aunts and grand mother in particular, made it on the arts project during the hard times of the 30's. I wish I could find & touch the life size marble works my G-grandmother did. At least I wear a small token of her daughter, My aunt Babes, gotten in Taos when she was married to Brett Weston. I have so much behind me yet want none of it to carry me. Be with me people. I know you are.

Your works are awsome, keep the flow going :) You have to be able to express the voice from within (the vibration). I am a visual artist as well, and had found myself at one point at an impass, wondering about the 'validity' (the need) for art. The reflection from this thought hit hard and reminded me of one of the most critical reasons for creating---c o m m u n i c a t i o n  Without it, we begin to lose our beautiful dynamics & perspective towards humanity, as well, our own sense of self. Do it with intent. Do it with heart. Let the World interpret it on their own... Rock it man :D!!!

Cheesus, just stop reading into it what is likely not there.

Sometimes 'stellar' means just what the word suggests.

Don't go getting all co-dependent on us and shit....

The question of how to post images came up.
Select an image.
Right click on it and select 'Copy Image Location'
Paste the address where desired.
Highlight the address, then click on the Img box above.
Preview to make sure it is working.
Not all images work for this.
You can hit 'Quote' on existing posts to check the code format they used, to see if it matches what you understand.
Even when you don't understand the approach used, sometimes you can copy the code to do the same thing, such as a hidden link.

And glad mommy is there. Co dependent? I wonder What kind of box are you looking at living in? Mine is what I see. Feel, Paint, make music, Mommy hates it yet encourages it. Love you Mommy. Thanks to those who give a crap. I wonder who really does. Questioning many but really not caring.

Thanks Gyre, Still wonder why it must be so complicated to post an image. Still can't figure it with Mac. Maybe just to old. Trying but not quite there I suppose.
