What to do in Reno?

Post by Pookey » Fri Nov 14, 2003 7:43 pm

Somehow I've found myself in Reno. What is there to do here? Are there burners here? I see young people at the grocery store, where do they go for fun? I also see strange old ladies with large hair. They frighten me. Although I have to admire them for their creativity.

If you head down to the Blue Lamp on a weekend, there's a pretty good chance you'll run into some burners. The Underground is also decent, and the music ain't half bad. My little sister swears by The Satellite, but I've never been there myself. I'm usually at the Wild Orchid looking at boobs and paying eight bucks for a beer.

This time of year in Reno...

Go SKIING of course! Our locals' secret, Mt. Rose, has fabulous conditions and virtually no crowds/lines on weekdays. Fishing at Pyramid Lake is also a good bet this time of year. We have GREAT thrift shops, for those so inclined. And Jack's Cafe, in Sparks, is the raddest place for breakfast.

Jeze seems to be on the money...Hagey as well. Never been to the Underground...I understand it to be heavy and loud (musically). Satellite is a very cool bar, a couple of nice young ladies from the bay area opened it. As for the Orchid...very special to me..
