Do you know where you are buying the paint from? If you need any suggestions, I have a place that sells paint that glows for 12 hours instead of the 30 minutes that the stuff from arts/crafts stores sells. It is a little pricey, but very worth it.

Came across this UV reactive clear paint the other day and am planning on getting a couple of colors. Anyone have any experience with it? I"m hoping that it really will be unnoticeable during the day, so as to keep with the aesthetic of the MV, but really come alive at night under UV lights.

They have it in spray cans as well with more color options.

http://www.readysetglo.com/Glowpaint_water_bases.asp

The green glow paint lasts the longest (12 hours) other colors available that last less (some as little as 2 hours)

They sell glow powder to mix into whatever clear medium you wish as well. I was thinking about a super soaker water gun with glowing water inside. Might be cool. But, might damage peoples clothing or property.

Wow. The rustoleum stuff is definitely the right price. I might have to give that a try as well to see how it works. Thanks for the tip.

Tequila is/was one of my ideas as well. I didn't think I would have to ask how well that would go over though 8)

1 item a day

Post by pntball727 » Thu Mar 18, 2010 1:20 pm

well, considering this RJ guys Victorian keeps talking about, im glad to see our weekend escapades and photos have made it to Eplaya.

in our defense for burning the couch, yes, i am aware of the fines and the mass toxicity of the fumes, but it did burn like a champ until the fire department showed up due to the massiveness of the flames and high winds. (plus it wasnt my idea) haha...and now we wont be burning things like that on the playa. and another note, the couch could not have been donated due to it sitting outside and collecting all kinds of critters and wonderful aromas from assorted animals making it their personal bathroom.

i myself have been hard at work working on my bike, turning out to be a very cool looking blue and purple metallic paint, just have to clear coat it and reassemble, pics will come soon. also have to run the elwire on it and that will be done. goggles and dust mask are on their way as well oh and the ticket is here!

Oh, yuck. Sounds like the couch definitely reached its end point. Unfortunately, most sofa cushions are made out of polyurethane, which puts out some seriously toxic smoke. When airplanes crash, it's not the impact that kills most people--it's the polyurethane smoke!

But how could I pass up the opportunity to hassle you?

haha...honestly i dont blame you on wanting to hassle us...but at the same time oyu know its a good party when the cops completely bypass bothering you to stop the party or calm down and but rather the fire department comes to tell us to put out our fire :-) yes it was an amazing time and one hell of a fire for as little amount of stuff we really burned.

I just scored 8 almost new ratchet straps off a 'inter company transfer' truck. There's my 1 'free' BM item for today.

Doing a Costco grocery run today and picked up a 48 pack of AA batteries for Burningman. Can never have too many batteries on the playa.

Not today, but a few weeks ago...
Had bought a 20'x10' carport on craiglist, but I didn't have any sort of container for it. So I went to the good old Army Surplus, and found HUGE duffel bags. I got two 30"x50" duffel bags and fit a whole car port into just two duffel bags!!!!
Didn't realize how heavy they would be though, damn!
At least my carport isn't bouncing around the back of my truck!
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

We made an impromptu stop at the local Goodwill Store yesterday, and I found several bling-ey tops! Way fun. :D I also lined a fairy dress I'd found at St. Vinnies (a little too see through for me, but YMMV), and figured out how to sew the triangles for my boot covers.

bewired.com took me to an orthodontist's website. I had no idea EL wire was a part of modern dentistry

Well, I haven't checked in here in days. So today I'm skipping all the eplaya I can and setting all those yellow boxes to zero.
