Break down of where the money goes?

Post by _tears_ » Mon May 31, 2004 1:04 pm

People have been asking me " where does the money go ". So I was wondering if somewhere on the website, if there is a break down of where the money goes ( the ticket money, the ice, coffee ect ).

Thanks :)

This question has been asked and answered several times before. The latest figures are from the 2002 burn and are at: http://afterburn.burningman.com/02/financial_chart.html

I'm still waiting for the 2003 Afterburn report. I wonder if they'll get it out before the 2004 event?

I'll have to check the link and see if my suspicion that 75% of the money goes to beer for Larry and his friends...!

LOL. Seriously. The Flambe Lounge lit my fire and I can NOT wait to get back on the playa. Is it August yet?

I'm going up the weekend of June 12th to do a Leave No Trace training, woohoo! Learn how to reduce my impact and get to be in the desert again!

I just wished I lived in the bay area where I could attend these events. I lived there years ago andso miss it.

Anyone want to hire me and relocate me? Anyone?? ((crickets))

I do indeed understand. Many days pass that i feel as if i am old beyhond my years. Most of my life I have been told I have an old soul, and it does have its pros and cons I supposes, it is all I know :)

Blessed Be to All this day.

Cant wait to join you all on the playa again in 2004!

Well, you will have to wait until 2005 in my case (barring an economic miracle :( ), but I can't wait to attend! 8)

BTW, one of the guys I am planing on going with, when someone asked us why we wanted to go, replied that he felt it was the kind of thing a person should do before they turned 40. Considering I was born in August of 1963 I am not certain how I feel about that :!:

Well, I suppose that it IS better than, while I was working at the supermarket today, I said "Bye bye!" to a young toddler seated in the grocery cart, and her mother told the girl to say good-bye to me. The young girl turned, smiled sweetly at me, and said: "You're a knuckle-head!" :?

I suspect that she might very well have got herself in trouble. (That wasn't the first "smart remark" she'd made, and the mother told us she was very relieved that the cashier and I were finding the comments humorous!) Apparently the little girl was quite a handful for her mother....

Part of my "savings plan" is finding a job were I can actually SAVE money! :( I mostly took the one I have because 1) it had insurance, 2) it was a nice supplement for my unemployment, and, 3) it was supposed to be temporary until my Union at a former job resolved my grievances with that employer (and that employer's terminating me). I am thinking about attempting to transfer to a better job at my current employer, since they seem to be better run than were I worked previously. :?

Cool! 8) Here's hoping that there will be an ePlaya meet up in 2005, 'cause if not, meeting people from here could take the whole darned event!

(Hmmm.... it is 12:21 in the morning! Now how did that happen! )
