Ya missed me by a year. Moved from Myrtle Beach, land of golf courses, strip clubs, T-shirt shops and cheap seafood, to Tampa, land of ... uh, other stuff, last year. Where are you?

I'm in Charleston. Thought about moving to Myrtle Beach, but ended up here instead. How's life in Tampa?

Much better than it was in MB, at least for me. My tribe here is much more conducive to my way of thinking, doing and living. S.C., by and large, seemed a bit stifling for burners. (Or, we just couldn't find any phellow phire pholk.)

SC can be a bit stifling I imagine. Charleston has a lot art, the traditional stuff, and that helps with the creativity. I doubt this town could handle art car exposition or other more abstract stuff that goes on at Burning Man, but it would be interesting to find out.

Day to day Charleston zeitgeist is about the most abstract that I have ever experienced. Lived Chuckton a little over a year after four years at Clemson. Do not get me started on the MASTABATORY "art scene" (ala "Butts of Charleston", "CofC" students and teachers, etc...). However, Piccolo Spoleto could almost pull off a burnette, you think? How many burners are in Charleston now anyway?

Charleston burners???

Man oh man, I knew moving here from San Francisco was going to be a change, but where are other like-minded burners? Would be nice to meet some of you. If you're out there, please get in touch. I think this city needs some "art projects".

Hello?

For what it's worth, my friend Scott and I are going coming from Savannah GA to our first burn this year. We're staying with Big Puffy Yellow Camp out of North Carolina (I met a couple of NC burners before I moved to Savannah.) We're driving up to Charlotte to meet with everyone (about 15 people) and flying out together - Create a mini Burn event on the plane! ;-)

I posted a call for contact at our local noncorporate coffee shop and got one response - a woman who moved here from California who still hasn't decided if she is going to go again. She's been to BM once before. She's thinkin of driving out there. I don't have the patience or finances. I'd go postal by Oklahoma.

Charleston & Savannah are great. Went to skewl in Sav.

There are burners in SC, just not heavily populated by them :)

Be sure to check out
www.transformus.com
for a regional burn about 6/7 hrs from you. Well worth the trip, and it's BEAUTIFUL up here. And you'll be surrounded by burners you can carpool/share ideas with all weekend.

Best of luck & keep in touch!

Hey Ya'll - Looking forward to the burn, but also for the Southeast Warm-up! Transformus promises to be a helluva lotta fun, and is pretty cheap too. I'm from NC, but Asheville, NC isn't far for most of you from SC. Hope to see ya'll there!

See the link to Transformus in an earlier post to this topic.
