One Polish, one German, Two Israeli, on our way!

Post by weiz2707 » Tue Mar 23, 2010 11:47 am

Hello all!
This is a first time for us and we are looking forward to it! Currently we are in need of advice, mainly regarding how and where we can buy a (cheap) RV or trailer, and also other equipment. Any tips that can save us money would be great, as we are all artists, and therefore not wealthy.
But We know it will all work out, it always does!
See you on the Playa!

Welcome! I'm sure it will work out!
Also, check at the Q&A, Tips and tricks, there is a pretty long discussion about RV's in general

Check Craigslist.org under "RVs"...near the city you're flying in to.

And welcome!

I'm betting that trailors are going for cheaper than rvs.
Here's the url for craigslist, in case it's not as totally obvious to you as it is to us stateside: http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites
WE have some fellows from Norway who come every other year. They rent a couple of big trucks (by which I think I mean the 20 footers, not any tractor trailer that they'd need a special driver's license for) and I think sleep there at night and get out into shade in the day. You are most likely to be able to interact with them here.

You guys should walk into a bunch of bars together, just to set people up for jokes.

We do sound like the start of a joke, don't we?
Thanks for the tips and advice. Does anyone know if we are better off renting or buying a vehicle? And from whom should one rent or buy?

Our most important concern is the price, as we have a very limited budget. i have been looking and the rental price for an RV is at least 2000$! But we will make it one way or another!

Buying a used car is buying someone else's problem. I don't know what you do if your purchase is wonky in some way. I've done the stuck in the middle of nowhere waiting for some part dance and it's not fun. The fellows I was talking about found it cheaper to rent the big truck than to rent a minivan for the same period of time, but the truck only seats two, and you'll need room for four.

I kinda expected the first sentence would be some sort of a punch line.

WANTED -Trailer, RV: we prefer to pay an individual than a c

Post by weiz2707 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 1:22 pm

Hello all!
Our team from around the world (Israel, Poland, Germany and more), on our way to the festival, Is interested in renting or buying an RV (or similar) and would much prefer to pay an individual than a corporation. We would like to rent it for the period between August 28 and September 18, and would treat it as if it were our very own. We are all experienced travelers with the utmost respect for the environment and people. We would take good care of the vehicle and would return clean and in the same condition it was (or better). Our intention is to try and learn and enjoy as much as we can during our trip, but without wasting resources while dealing with people, real people.
My name is Jonathan and i would be happy to answer any questions you might have, and would be happy to provide you with any further information about us.

Peace

Jonathan

This might not be the best place to ask if people aren't using their RV between late August and early September.
