Guns, Love Em or Leave Em
I found 380 ammo online, though the places with the best prices were backordered.
I found boxes of practice ammo at a pawn shop here.
Some gun shops keep some to go with guns they sell.
It's around.
If you want corbon, order direct, not through a dealer.
If you're thinking seriously about a 380, order self defense ammo now.
If you go another way, easy enough to sell.
Same goes for any practice ammo under $40/100.
Maybe at any price these days.

gyre said, " The Beretta 32 weighs 14.5 ounces, or about the same as the keltec 9mm. The Beretta 22 and 25 come in at 11.5-11.8 ounces. "
My Beretta Tomcat .32 weighs exactly 1 pound fully loaded with hollow points. It is 11.5 ounces empty. Just weighed it on my ummmmm extremely accurate scale used for,,,, errrrrrr business.
I got all the hollow points the gun shop in Salt Lake had the last time I was there. Can't buy 'em in CA. In fact, they only allow you one box out the door. Balls and FMJ is all you can buy around here.

Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure my hollow points are even legal in CA.

I'm pretty sure there is at least around 57 Federal and State regulations against direct shipping of ammo these days. Honestly, I have never looked into it because I had the impression it was not an option.

I'd guess, you could go online, and order ammo.......if it's not ok, they'll say so. The vendors won't ship here if it's not ok.
That might be the quickest route to find out for sure.....
I just ordered and received blank ammo, for a project...........not sure if that counts, though.

You do have to go through a dealer to purchse a gun over the internet or mail order. I belive the dealer would known as an FFL dealer.
As far as ammo goes, as long as you're 18+ you should be OK. Most internet ammo sales places have that posted somewhere on their site
If you're in doubt as far as your HPs being legal in the golden state, don't tell anybody
and hope like hell you don't have to use them
I've purchased and used .22 HP magnums in CA but that was 25+ years ago

in the middle of the page, it says what counties within CA they can't ship to.
so, the other counties should be ok.

I carry these.
Legal in california, last I heard.
http://www.dakotaammo.net/Self-Defense-DPX/200/200/dept

Mail order is legal in most of the country.
Receivers or assembled weapons must be shipped to an FFL dealer and picked up there.
You can usually find one that won't gouge you for this.
Prices here range from $25 to $100, $100 meaning they don't want your business.
Check smaller shops and towns.
Some ballistic info

The weight came off a Beretta site, so maybe they were talking about a different model?Trishntek wrote:gyre said, " The Beretta 32 weighs 14.5 ounces, or about the same as the keltec 9mm. The Beretta 22 and 25 come in at 11.5-11.8 ounces. "

Someone commented that it wasn't worth shooting someone over a tv.
Too bad the thieves don't feel the same way.
The pizza parlor burglary near my house was about stealing a tv.
They shot at the owners and then the police.
There was a massive chase and even my corner here was blocked off by the police most of the night.
This was over a tv that, if you can't buy one for $500 now, you will be able to in five years.
One of the sentences is for 41 years.
For a tv.

yeah, that discussion is interesting:
sure, it's not worth shooting someone over a tv.
Buy, as you say, if the criminal is willing to shoot you to get it, then, do you need to assume that, and, act first?
No, it's not worth dying over, but, if someone is willing to kill you, are you not within reason to act before they get a chance?
Once they pull the gun, and point it at you, it's to late to say "I didn't think they'd do it"........
tough call........

Corbon ships all products to all locations in california.
Restrictions such as the bay area were repealed or never made it into law.
Many shippers leave it up to customers to know legality or won't ship to the state at all, due to constantly changing rules all over california.
The only state they don't ship to is massachusetts.
A card is required for illinois.
The copper/lead issue is by location and primarily has to do with hunting.
Check the state site for regulations.
380 availability is starting to ease up at corbon.
9mm is still in short supply.
Military demand is part of the problem.

not to change the subject.........
I note how many cartridge/caliber choices there are..
rifle and pistol.
and, I also note, every year, "new/improved" ones come out.
other than the novelty of something "new and improved", WTF?
there is some thing that will shoot anything, at any distance, now........
I just get a chuckle, from folks that buy a ".308 magnum (?)" when, a ".300 Win Mag" already exists.
or, a .360 Weatherby, when a .375 H&H is there.......
2" drop difference, at 500 yds, is far less than most peoples ability to shoot, and, the other effects, ie: wind, humidity, temp.......

357mag is a revolver round, 357sig is an automatic round for magazines.
Saami specs tell the story on some of this.
Why are the 45auto and the 7.62x39 low pressure rounds?
Because they are.
There is always a story, but pressure ratings get fixed.
Some rounds are different so they can have different pressure ratings.
Some are extremely specialized and not relevant to most people.
Most snipers still use a 308.
The simultaneous triple shot used with the somali pirates was likely two 308s and possibly something else up to a 50, used to penetrate the plexiglas.
Look at the specs for the 30.06 and the huge number of rounds in that range of power.
Check out rounds in the 2000flbs range.
You have the 30.30 and the 7.62x39 and not that much else, by comparison.
A lot of calibres are just obsolete, too heavy, low power, inefficient, but some people will still use them, even if only in older weapons.

Last Tuesday when I was off I went to the gun store as I said I would and loked at a used KelTec P3AT, fit my hand good, really lite like you said.
When I get payed on Friday I'm gonna put a deposit down for a new one.
The employee said they "uaually" have .380 ammo available.
