Have you registered your theme camp yet? I haven’t seen it on the list as of yet. I would think a camp of this type and size would pretty much have to be registered and placed in the adult area.
Is there space in the adult area for both registered and un registered theme camps? There hasn't really been much said about the zoning, except for the one mention in the Jack Rabbit Speaks that there would be adult zoning.

As a poly swinger, producer of sex positive adult content, and all around sex enthusiast I'd love to belive that this camp was actually happening, and doing so in good faith. As a realistic cynic I'm a bit doubtful, to say the least.
However, in a positive spirit I'd say if this camp is coming to the playa, I'd be more than happy to volunteer to help bring it about. I've attended and organized many sex parties over the years and think BRC would be made only better by a well ran "lifestyles," camp. So if it's really happening, please let me know how I can help. If it's a joke, I'll chuckle with the next folk...

BULLD
HEY BULLD
PM or email me for directions and a phone contact. The model is in the lobby of our building and you can call our receptionist to schedule a look. I may or may not be in the office, depending on what is going on. But if I am, ask for the Managing Director.
For obvious reasons, I do not post the phone or address details for the general population. I have set up an email if you would like to email me instead of PM. It is [email protected].
Peace

Maybe not - he originally said (on Monday) that he had nothing to do for the next TWO days. Today is 2 days later.zorro sings wrote:Well BULLD it looks like the weight of this 7 page thread has now come down on your shoulders.Good luck on your mission.
Anyone else have nothing to do for a few days?
Or should we all just wait for the website....

Kind of splitting hairs here aren't we?I am on record as thinking that this camp is a prank. There were many things(Not the cost and effort part though.Didn't someone fly Oakenfold in one year?) about the presentation that led me to this belief. However it looks like Random has stepped it up and called everyones bluff. For me that is enough. We will either see this project on the playa or we won't.

We will have a user friendly theme camp too. The Black Hole Midnight Maze and Alien Playground.....Come explore and get in touch with others in the deepest darkest corners of space...No lights allowed inside.......You don't want to fly off into another dimension do you? Or illumininate the people playing in the dark.....?

This is a long thread and I’m coming in pretty late . . . but
This year my gift to Black Rock will be Botanical Incense.
Most people's reaction to that statement is, "huh? okay, whatever." But stall that thought for just a minute while I explain.
For several years now I've been studying and collecting raw botanical scent based ingredients. I have and use a collection of approximately 70 different kinds of roots, seeds, berries, resins, leaves, and woods. When I talk about incense I mean the heating or burning of raw botanicals. I burn nothing except materials which have come straight out of the earth.
I have also spent a significant amount of my time researching the various uses of these botanicals. Incense, in this traditional sense is an ancient and nearly lost practice. Much of my life is being dedicated to reviving these approaches and their power sensibilities.
I would like to offer one or several burns for you camp. In particular I would most likely do kodo style burns.
What do you think? If you’re interested I can put some thought into the kinds of burns which would be useful.

NO SECURITY GUARDS: BAD IDEA
Have to give props to the originator for putting this discussion out for his ability to deal with the obvious negativity to his original idea with grace.
Don't you dare put real security guards there. One of the most moving things about burning man is the difference between real world thought such as. "...If I do this, who will see/arrest me/give me detention/think bad thoughts?" It took me the last two years of attendance to really dig this, and I love it. NO REAL AUTHORITY to tell you what to do. (I mean unless you are really hurting someone or being really fucking stupid) But the freedom to be the freak that I truly am, which may mean I would love to fuck my demon-semon boyfriend while my best girlfriend slapped my ass really hard in plain daylight and delight that others were watching.
If you felt a need for security, and I may understand if some total asshole drunk person came in and was ruining it for everyone, then I think 2 things...
Moderators that are burners, that are gentle, firm, dressed like freaks or not at all, but there to encourage a great time.
Second, Burning Man, like a medeski, martin and wood show, tends to attract pretty aware, conscious, nice people. Occasionally, an out of hand wasted weekend warrior or whoever can fuck it up, but on the whole, you all know what I mean. My point: self-policing. Burners aren't going to let things get dangerously out of hand, just by the very nature of the playa energy.
So can the security idea, it's bad just by the very word. Helpers, moderators, whatever, but security. Shit, go back to the real world where security is revered. In REAL life, there ain't really any...
With regards..

well,,, I have been blown off again by randomfuture. Let's all have a good laugh, ha ha ha haaaa!!!
Randomfuture, if you see me on my orange and red pedicab on the playa, flag me down (if you are even there) and I will cruise you around to some of my favorite camps and/or events. Basically, I will try and show you what BurningMan, in my opinion, is all about. This offer for rides is of course extended to ANYBODY on the playa.
See you all out there...

This camp is a great idea. You just have to be very careful to do it right. Clean, clean, clean. Have people bring their own sheets.
As far as how much money anyone spends on their camp, it's none of anyone elses fucking business. It's their money and we all are (usually) better off for it. If you want a cheap campout, go to the rainbow gathering.
It should be "hetero biased". Queers have plenty of other places to go. And it is much more difficult to get laid at BM if you are straight. It will really kill the mood to see some guy screwing another guy in the ass. If you really want to keep to the Roman tradition then you will have to have some sheep and a goat too.
But is this camp hedon real or not? If so, Id like to suggest a new name: "Caligula Unplugged"
If not, where are the other ones?

Sorry, but I had just read a post on this thread from a guy who thought the Hedon camp should follow the Roman traditions that included homosexuals and was all pissed off about it. If you follow that logic you have to include everything the Romans did, which was really weird. Gays have their own stuff and it's OK for strait people to do the same.
