Hey everyone!
I'm Lauren and I'm undertaking my first burn at the age of 27. Since my life is an amalgamation of journalism and fast times in the music industry here in Los Angeles, I find that the "27 Club" comes up a lot. Being that I am currently launching http://www.defyauthority.net and writing my ass off for a variety of publications and assorted sites, including my own, I figured that I should do something remarkable for my 27th year of life that will no doubt leave an indelible impression.

It's going to be a pleasure to partake in playa-prep and the actual event with all of you. Well, most of you, we'll burn that bridge after we cross it, right? I do love a good fire.

So far, I'm getting a kick out of all of the information and tips so eloquently and kindly provided by the community. Thank you!

27 has some hippie-dippie-ding-dong-crystal-sucker-tree-hugger connotations, ie; "that there damn Saturn Return", as well as being the age that Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Tim Buckley and friends bif adieu to our plane of earthly pleasures and late nights in Venice Beach.

Dr. Pyro, I am in lust with the Barbie Death Camp/Village and Wine Bistro. My mother was an avid Barbie doll collector, whereas I liked to help Barbie attain new haircuts & the odd Sharpie-based tattoo or 10. I figured the bitch needed my help. You, however, have taken it to another level entirely and I look so forward to seeing your handiwork on the playa.
