Me No Want To.....
Well at least people were smart enough not to drink the koolaid and wait for the next gen of the pad. There are already knock offs, shipping, that do everything but the phone, for $199.
What were they thinking, no camera, no flash, no phone, no usb?

...Compendium?......
Interesting how Jobs thought he had it so good that he could sell people powdered sugar covered soap bubbles, and people would just buy them blindingly. What a chance for a great concept to happen, I have been waiting for pads to become mainstream since the pad that palm made years back. It too was a great, game changing tool, from a great, hot tech company (Palm), also at the top of it's game, it too failed miserably. Ah a fickle bunch are we...

Reb I wouldn't want to interrupt your hatefest for the iPad, but the sales numbers are stronger than the numbers for the iPhone. Real in store sales were 300k on the first day, and estimates are that once presale numbers are included the first day sales numbers are around 600k iPads out the door.Rabbi Dali Rick wrote:Interesting how Jobs thought he had it so good that he could sell people powdered sugar covered soap bubbles, and people would just buy them blindingly. Everything iPad should have been and isn't: Archos9
16:9 screen
USB
Real OS (Win7)
Multitask
Open architecture
Flash support (REAL web, which apple has been falsely promising since day 1 on the iPhone)
Supports any multimedia files (Not stuck with a proprietary program like iTunes)
Only thing it's missing is an integrated webcam. But hey, it's got a USB port, and can run any program (like webcam drivers)

. I Wanna ......
it's not a hatefest, just an observation, I too, was looking forward to an Ipad, but alas, no phone, blaa blaa blaa, made me reconsider. I would just get an iphone if I were to go the Att route. So now I can wait. I currently drag around sprint, and just lost my phone in the desert, so I'm upgrading to the "Instinct" rather than changing carriers. The last-minute wet blanket seemed to have worked. Some reports duly noted that when the iPhone first went on sales, its first-day numbers were half those of analyst expectations. Another sign of possibly some reality seeping back into the iPad conversation: Apple stock dipped immediately after the company released its first-day iPad sales numbers, but closed up 1 percent at $238.49. We may get some more complete iPad sales figures when Apple releases its first-quarter earnings report April 20.

So it does. I went straight to the specifications tab and didn't see a mention there. There you have it: everything the iPad should have been.
Even the name is better. It may not be super catchy, but at least, you know, no menstruation jokes.

For once RG we mostly agree! I got a first hand look at an iPad today and was not impressed. I'll take my little mini netbook any time!
Pyramid Lake is just over the hill from here! Ya s'pose somebody just pulled off the 5 and took a snapshot? Or????? Look closely now,,,, did they even really stop? Hmmmmmmm? Questions needing no answers.
