not sure if this can help anybody i was looking around sams club today just seeing what they had for camping supplies and I saw this big tent it seems like a good value and most importantly all the mesh panels zip closed it has a pretty big profile so you may need to reinforce some of the pole to help it stand up to the wind and will definitely need to anchor it down good. if u have some trucks or rv's as windbreaks it may work out alright

That looks pretty sweet, I like the zipper windows. My only thought, is that it might not be very flexible. The nice thing about a dome tent is that in really high gusts of wind, they'll lay flat, then pop right back up. But that price isn't bad either. I'm probably gonna go check one out this weekend.sambojones wrote:not sure if this can help anybody i was looking around sams club today just seeing what they had for camping supplies and I saw this big tent it seems like a good value and most importantly all the mesh panels zip closed it has a pretty big profile so you may need to reinforce some of the pole to help it stand up to the wind and will definitely need to anchor it down good. if u have some trucks or rv's as windbreaks it may work out alright

Kookie Knee Socks
I bought a bunch of thin cotton wacky patterned knee socks to wear with the short dresses I'm sewing. Then I don't have to wear boots all the time (hot ow hot).
You don't have to be skinny, naked and under 30 to be a Hottie!
o.k., I like that... wonder if it means anything in yiddish?theCryptofishist wrote:I love typos! No, this post is not a rerun.
Today's score:

This is a 25 foot Reinell. The main difference from yesterday's boat is the large covered cabin area for shade. Also, this boat was not free -- I had to pay $5o,- (fifty bucks) for it. But it was only three blocks from my house. Now this will probably be the one that becomes a MV on the Mazda chassis. I'm wondering what to do with the roof-less Glastron. Graft the bow of the Glastron onto the stern of the Reinell, Viking ship style? Ideas welcome!

as I'm looking for something easy for me to set up and take down on my own.
I wish I could go to a Sam's and check this one out!
My thing for BM today is deciding not to go to Asheville for fun, but to stay home and go through my stuff, to determine exactly what I'll need to buy (and therefore, how much money I need to make in the next few months).

There should be an organized boat race! Way out on the Playa, where there is less chance of running someone over. And so that the racers could go over 5mph.Elliot wrote:![]()

check out www.elance.com... it's a site for freelance whatevers.
There are a bunch of really easy writing jobs you could bid for, or if you actual have digital skills like programing or graphic design you might be able to make some cash.
Also, don't be afraid to resort to age-old methods like yardwork, dog walking, blah blah blah.
Have you contacted your local old folks' home or group home? they always need relief workers at night and you often don't need any training, or they may provide it.

I was making a little shrine to Elliot, with a little tiny bike that stopped after you rode it for a little while. Then I added a little bike that pedaled backwards, a little bike that had a rising seat, a piano on wheels, a piano harp dulcimer, a piano hanging and swinging, two pianos, three pianos? a tiny pickup truck, a tiny motorcycle, a boat another boat. I need to rent another apartment for my little shrine to Elliot.
my new God.

STOPPED collecting short TP rolls
Thanks for the reminder about 1-ply. I've stopped this idea and told the friend who suggested it that he should stop too.motskyroonmatick wrote:One ply is important but more important is a TP with no or as little cotton content as possible. Most household butt wipe has cotton in it to make it feel soft. Cities sewer systems can deal with it fine but Burning Man's can't so well. Cotton plugs up the filtration machines that United Site Services brings to the playa requiring manual cleaning by hand by an individual in a stifling hot tyvek suit and other PPE. The only thing worse than cotton is baby wipes! Baby wipes are bad and cause an on going problem because people drop them in the potties. No baby wipes and no cotton containing TP.
RV type TP is generally free of cotton if you want to stock up before the burn. Also Robbidobbs (the supervisor of the potty project) drives around all week delivering extra TP to the potties and delivering her potty correctness message. If you see her handing out TP just ask for a roll to have on hand if needed. I'm sure the United Site Services guys would give you a roll too.
And, today's item is designing a warm coat for night time with lights in it. Got some of the fabric and trimmings today. Just need to work on the pattern and such. Already have the lights too. Once I sort it out, I'll make one for the Mr. too.

Alas, there are people EVERYWHERE in BRC, even way out by the Trash Fence. And some of them are taking a nap on the ground -- any ground. So no racing. And so that the racers could go over 5mph.
But thanks for the encouraging words!
Today I ripped all the interior and the stern drive out of the Reinell, and tore the front bodywork off the Mazda.

I have seen those 12" strips of LED lights for autos. They require 12 volts to run, but when they are boxes in the store there is a temporary battery and a button to test/demonstrate it for a few seconds. I am not sure how long they will run on that battery if constantly on if used for lighting a bike.
Jella, do you think you could do a little test and let us know if it works with a battery for any length of time?

I plan to test the little guy soon...maybe get a few and hook up to a 6 volt lantern battery in the basket. I'll see if I can get a picture tonight. I did decide against sticking it to the bike though prolly zip tie them. I'll report back after I see how long the original 9volt it came with lasts
Oh yeah the brand is Pilot "phantom 10" flexi-light "
