Gods
I see that the old 'Gods" topic is locked. What kind of BS is that?
Anyway, it seems that some of the gods are pissed off. Iceland is getting screwed by the British banks. Evidently, the gods in Iceland are retaliating. They're sending clouds of ash to Britain. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/8623806.stm
I'm guessing that Vulcan is hard at work at his forge.
COOL !

Maybe he has a cousin under Iceland.
They've had to cancel tens of thousands of flights. There isn't any way to tell how long the eruption is going to last. This is going to be bad for global cooling too.

I'm not the only one who came to the conclusion that Vulcan was responsible;

NOT Jormundgand, no, no ,no !! not him. Loki, we can handle with the ghostbusters,,, maybe. Jormundgand will destroy all of us. Maybe we can get Shiva to go head to head with Jormundgand.

And I really gotta say, who cares about DVD's threads? If you have him plonked, you can go for pages and pages without seeing a post, it's true, but it's just easier to render him invisible without all that clicking.

OK, then Ragnarök it is. MY spellcheck has the little bar of over Ragnarök. Let's make a day of it. We can roast weenies in Hades and water ski on Styx. We can introduce the Hydra to Medusa since they have so much in common. Loki can be the Master of Ceremonies.
What else?

OK, wine it is for Littleflower. Somewhere on the previous "god" thread, didn't we figure out that there was / is a god of refer? Wasn't there something that explained why Moses was following a burning bush all over the desert?

Loki is a trickster figure who works with both the Aesir and the Frost Giants. So it sort of depends on where in the cycle you catch him. There's that story where Thor and Loki are both fooled by the Giants into doing impossible tasks; they are on the same side then.
Is Loki Mitgard Serpent's father?

Many of the gods are immortal. That would mean that they had a different time-sense than mortals. It's speculated by vulcanologists that Iceland is entering a new active phase. They speculate that the party is going to last 60 years;

Just imagine,,, 60 years of Loki grabbing airplanes. Better start working on lots of high-speed rail. Don't forget the fluoride and the cooling effect.

Aesir and Vanir, perhaps, more accurately.theCryptofishist wrote:Loki is a trickster figure who works with both the Aesir and the Frost Giants. some say Loki is Jormungands father.........also Slepnir...........and Fenrir.
he even shape shifted into a mare, to give birth............
He is quite the trickster. but, he also always gives you the information to extract yourself from the predicament you're in.........
He is thought responsible for earthquakes, as serpents venom drips on him.
Odin is also a trickster..........
But, I'd still put the Iceland stuff on Loki...........so much chaos from it.

Hephastus was the blacksmith of the Greek gods. He was lame and he was paired with Aphrodite, goddess of beauty.
Ogun is the blacksmith god of the Nigerian Yoruba. He's lame and he is paired with the goddess Osshun. Yes, she's the goddess of love and beauty.
Wasn't there a Norse myth about a lamed blacksmith?

And Hel. I'm pretty sure that he's the father of Hel. And the mother of Slepnir, as I understood it. Yeah, that giant horse that he lured away from the building of Valhalla was the father. I love tricksters. Except when they are teaching me a lesson...
While your grasp on your own religion is going to be tighter than mine, I don't know how Odin/Woden is a trickster. Although I have a great deal more respect for him than for that puffed up piece of greecian self-involvement Zeus. You get respect for hanging yourself from the world ash for three days and giving away an eye for knowledge.
Have I asked about horseflesh? Specifically the liver?
