Dusty Memories

Post by geospyder » Sat Apr 17, 2010 3:52 pm

I went for a hike this morning. Instead of a day pack I just brought a hydro pack - the same one I used last year on the playa - the same one I thought I had cleaned. My phone rang, I pulled it out of the small pouch on the strap and what seemed like a small atomic cloud appeared - playa dust that was in the pouch. Only 135 days!
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Camelback's are a bit tricky- Some patience required.
First you gotta start the threads evenly.
Then give it a good twist.
finally squeeze & if it leaks give it another twist of an inch
or two with more pressure.

In practice it's quite easy
After 5 years of heavy use skiing etc I put a bit of silicone
grease on the outer threads and now as good as new.
