I doubt it. Because I don't see how they could eat you. Something about putting drift wood in beach fires.

I finally got my butt in gear. I walked a mile Thursday. Sunday I walked again, then road a mile on my exercise bike. I also did some crunches and did a few arm exercises. I plan on adding more each day.

missed the treadmill workout on sat & sun, but worked in the yard alot and took dogs for a walk. Back on the treadmill today and doing wii "just dance" at work. I am also using a diet cookie for breakfast, lunch & snacks during the week.Taste is so-so, but keeps me from snacking and going overboard at lunch.

Hitting the gym again tonight. My calves hurt from Friday afternoon tell Monday morning, luckily stopped hurting just in time to go work out again. My work out buddy plans on being way "to lazy" tomorrow so we are working out today instead.

Still not back on the bicycle, but the shoulder IS getting better. The last three days I have worked pretty steadily on a new Mutant Vehicle, and that more varied use may actually be doing the shoulder some good.

An other advantage to being busy in the hobby shop: I think about the project and forget about raiding the kitchen!

Say... what national holiday tomorrow? :?:

So last night me, work out buddy, and my girlfriend went to the club. I'm never taking the same car as my girlfriend again. I was barely through the weights, when she was ready to go. I don't feel anything in my back today. Part of that is my fault that I hit arms before back, so my arms were too tired to work my back. I think I'm gonna go back tonight, alone, and get my back... while my work out buddy celebrates.

I have (re)discovered that pulling up roots and schlepping all of your belongings from one place to another, even if just across town, is great for burning fat and building those muscle definitions. And for night-time sore backs and feets etc.

Works especially well if you have lots of heavy toolboxes, bins of machine parts, misc tires, wheels, steelcase desks and cabinets, 2 church organs, a piano, big bronze horse, (etc...), one handcart, a utility trailer (with truck to pull it...heh), and no helpers.

Down almost 5 pounds and leaner, several weeks of this to go!

Last Sunday and today we took the dog and walked cemetary hill above Dayton.
Climbs from about 4370' to about 4450' in 1/2 mile or so. Picked up discarded aluminnum cans along the way both times.
On Memorial day we're gonna hike Mt Davidson, the apex of Storey county, above Virginia City...
an 1700' gain in about 3 miles, from 6200' to 7900'+... as long as the snow is gone
Gotta try to lower my "cholestorol"

I'm STILL not back on the bicycle, but the shoulder is somewhat better. I find that holding the arm in one position is the worst thing I can do. Varied work is OK. So I've dismantled a pickup-truck and stretched the frame ten feet (for my MV), I'm climbing scaffolding and installing sheeting on my barn, etc.

Ice cream is still the Great Enemy.

I did good for a few weeks. Last week I slacked a lot. Going to get back at it today.

Would walking 1.2 miles on I80 carrying a sawzall and cutting plastic guide posts from the gaurdrail count?
If so, thats what I did today at work and that 8 pound sawzall felt like 80 pounds after twenty minutes, plus I lost one pound from yesterday and thats with having two leftover piceces of chicken from Pollo Loco for lunch

Will that cause people to get lost and stranded in the snow?

Thats a negatory UD because another crew was bringing up the rear installing metal ones, only they had to carry a 30 pound air hammer  .

I forgot to mention the three corn tortillas with the chicken.

Wow. If those bicycles are female, I want to marry them. Well... maybe the "sporty daughter" of the two. But the "Mom" is cute also!

Just got back from a ride. (conventional modern metal bicycle, full suspension.) Third ride since I broke off for the pinched nerve in the shoulder. First ride was very short -- OK. Second ride was to the Post Office -- not so OK. Today Post Office again -- I need an answer:

In two-and a-half-weeks (Memorial Weekend) I am going to race in the Grand Championship Kinetic Sculpture Race. (I do this every year.) Basically, we are going to pedal a Mutant Vehicle 40 miles over three days -- across all kinds of terrain including open water. I'm in much better shape than I was this time last year, but I need to train the rest of the month. That means this shoulder is going to be on fire come race day.

So... maybe I can get some ideas here about what pain medication can get me thru that weekend? Forget the OTC stuff. The only real pain medication I have any experience with is Vicodin. My dentist gave me some when I had root canal work, and it did the job very well. I had some of it left, and a while later I took that for some other pain -- and it did nothing. So I conclude that different pain meds work on different types of pain. What should I ask my doctor for to get me thru Memorial Weekend with this pinched nerve "cyclist's shoulder"? Yes, I know, I should ask her, but she's practically fresh out of med school.

I tried alot of different scripts for my back including vicoden, and while they tended to make me feel a little loopy, they didnt help the pain. A friend gave me a tramadol and i couldnt belive how well it worked. The script says 2 every 6 hours, but I can take 1 when I hurt and thats it. 1 feels like two beers, But the pain is gone completely. 2 feels like a 12 pack. And i whiegh about 200. The name is easy to remember, TRAMA dol.
