Help my art project- share your poems and inspiring words

Postby wylde_s » Thu Apr 22, 2010 6:46 pm

I am doing a small gifting art project where i will be printing fellow burners words of wisdom, poems, inspiration or whatever it is that they wish to share on small colored and textured wood laminate tiles (shaped like a small playing card). I will be mono-printing a small simple image in regards to the event designed by myself on the opposite side of the tile.

Each one can hold up to about 30 words of 10 or 9 font (more if you wish it to be smaller). I will most likely be stringing them as necklaces, or something it can be hung on.

I really need help by having as many people submit some words to me. It can be simple, complex, wise, funny, or just plain random. I can include your name on the card of keep it anonymous. You can send them to be via email wylde_s@yahoo.com and if you have a color preference to give more feeling or emotion to your words, i can do what i can to best fit what you would like.

Thanks Everyone!

This is the poem that got me to the burn, and every word has held true for me.

"Two roads diverge in a yellow wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by and it has made all the difference." Robert Frost.
Finally moving to SF...can't WAIT!

Stephen Crane

In the Desert

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter – bitter", he answered,
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."

Whatever be your goal,
keep your eye on the doughnut
and not,
on the hole"

How do you find a mouse if you're not curious? :)

It's a saying from my dad, and I have taken as my own over the years to remember to be simple: "No matter what you choose to do in life, do it with a happy heart." :D
COFFEE CAMP: "The Social Hub of the Uncivilized World"
"Remember- Drink coffee...it's for your own good"
"DRINK IT!"
"...it's only just begun."

If only this or that,
on such and such a day
had varied by an hour or an inch
or something neglected had been done
or something done had been neglected
then, perphaps, the other might have been.

As a writer, I have plenty of words floating around in my head at any given point in time. Here are a few you may want to use, just please sign them Fairy Godmother. I live in the south Bay area and work at the BRC Post Office during the Burn.

The fire that burns me is mine.
The efforts of our existence so often go unnoticed as we plead for recognition.
I am driven by dreams, so much greater it seems, than I.
Living your ideals is as easy as identifying them and as terrifying as dying for them.
Life is great and you deserve all the happiness you are willing to accept.
Do not fear me just because I do not fit what you were told I would be.
Amore - amorous - armor us - arm us all - we wound so easily.
Everyone is doing just what they want to, but you don't have to like it and maybe they won't let you.
Dreams of mine: battles hard and treasures fine.
We're just babes in the arms of strangers.
Fairy Godmother

Hi, I hope it's not too late to add suggestions, as I know a lot of us are already packing up and heading out!

One of my favorites is "It's those who've cracked that the light shines through"

And read earlier today online: "All women are angels, and when someone breaks our wings we continue to fly- on a broom"
