First time! Can't wait!

Post by MikeDC85 » Wed Apr 28, 2010 6:33 pm

Hey! My name is Mike and I just found out about Burning Man last weekend. I was shocked that I had never heard of this before! It looks so amazing! I will most likely be attending alone so I signed up to work & camp with the lamplighters. I figure that might be a good way to meet people and get help from some more experienced burners :) Can't wait til August!

Hey!
That could be reno's slogan!

Anyhow, it's better than,

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

hello to you!

Iam a Lamplighter and I'd say that you picked a good place to be. For the person coming alone and for the newbie to the event lamplighter village is a great place. It is a work camp, yes! but the work is enjoyable and the people surely made me feel welcome and I enjoyed working with them.. Friendly supportive group!

For me the spires and the lanterns represent the largest art project at burning man in terms of scale.. and in terms of shaping its visual appeal, itd be hard to imagine what itd be like without.

Hopefully you'll have a good time with the lamplighters and at burningman!

Welcome Mike!
You're going to have an amazing time. I've wondered about arriving alone, it could almost be more fun than coming with a bunch of people you already know.
