Guess we shouldn't have gate kick out those who really want to come to BM and join our community, fucking pricks on gate, who do they think they are, just because some don't have the proper ticket...
It's not their fault their mother didn't teach them to buy a ticket.
Or all they just all dumb fucking hippies who think we owe them all a ticket?
Fuck back in the old days all you needed to do was show up.
No food, no water, hell we will provide for you.

how many people get in, before, the lifeboat itself sinks? How do you choose? Or, is it better to let all drown, so that it's "fair"?
It's a tough call, between those who want to come, work, become part of society and add to the strength by their presence, and, those who would be "ticks"........
I think, that's the idea of making it somewhat difficult to emigrate from another place.
It sort of shows, who's willing to work at it, in the first place.
Again, you can't blame people for wanting to come here, but, they gotta bring something to the table.

i wish we could send all of our own freeloaders somewhere, exchange them perhaps for people in poor countries who want to work.
i was in mexico recently, in rosarito and ensenada. it is so poor. the coast is littered with half-built condo highrises that went bust, i guess. the tourist areas were nearly empty. we talked to a guy in this wonderful store in ensenada, he told us how slow everything was... this year a little better than last, but with the drug cartel problems, who knows when it will get back to where it was.
we also had our building painted. the workers were latino, some of whom did not speak english. but they worked their butts off, did a great job, and were always pleasant to be around. one liked to talk to us, a young buck from guatemala who noticed a few gringos looking confused one day and decided to talk to them. he taught them spanish while they taught him english ... now he's here legally, painting houses, and working on his GED.
i'm proud to live in a county that helps those who have no opportunity. yes, it's getting to be a problem, and i have absolutely no trouble sending criminals illegals back to their home countries. it's difficult to come here, and it's an expensive place to live. but the fact is that illegals are not the only freeloaders, not by a long shot. the problem is with people, as there always have been and always will be those who prefer to live off others rather than support themselves.

I've been out of state for a bit. I see that all y' all have been keepin the threads going.
Litlerflower,,, "i wish we could send all of our own freeloaders somewhere, exchange them perhaps for people in poor countries who want to work. "
OK, now we get to the gist of the problem;
There are people who produce more than they consume.
There are people who consume more than they produce.
Socialism never works because the former get tired of supporting the latter.
ALL creatures have a drive to survive. If you are expending your resources to help some stranger to survive, there is less for you. When man was a hunter-gatherer, he directly obtained what he needed. Anyone who wasn't a hunter-gatherer had to supply some service to society to in exchange for the means to survive. As society grew even larger, there were more and more people who didn't have anything to offer in exchange for food.
As our society becomes more mechanized, more automated and more cerebral, there is an ever-increasing segment of the population who have nothing to offer in exchange for sustenance. Some die,, some steal. Most prefer to vote sustenance for themselves. This removes motivation for them to work. Socialism has always been death to motivation. Our mechanized production could provide sustenance at a certain level but, capitalism doesn't really work that way.
It's only recently, that mechanized farming has brought adequate food supplies. The same is true for protein... beef, poultry and fish.
Malthus predicted that we would run out of food because, population grows much faster than agricultural production. Between mechanized farming and birth-control, the showdown has been averted ,,, or postponed.
Most of the major fisheries in the world have collapse. The farmland is degraded and is washing away. The water is polluted. The day may come when Malthus is proved right.
Generally and technically, immigration is a strategy to improve the economy of a country. So, in general, one would want to see immigrants who brought resources and / or motivation. A lack of these would be a net loss to the host country.
I forgot a link that does some comparison between Tea Party and anti Arizona;
One of the things that I see is that the Latinos are screaming demands for things to which they have no right.

excellent points catman and little flower and ygmir.
it is not a cut and dried issue, far from it. being the son of a naturalized citizen who came from cuba, i am indeed biased. i merely believe that those with 'pioneer' gumption, those who struggle against geography, language, culture and yes, the law to come here and make a life for themselves and family are the very people we want to 'beef up the stock' so to speak.
every immigrant group has had to suffer the slings and arrows of the PREVIOuS groups, who once established, seem to forget from whence they came....case in point, Tom Tancredo from colorado who is spearheading this whole mccarthyism towards mexicans et al is a Fucking Second Generation
Dago Guinea Wop.
yep...a greasy, meatball sucking guido.
im just sayin'.

Simon, I've got no argument with anything you wrote. Seems that lots of people want the door slammed shut behind them. California transplants to Oregon don't want any more damned Californians coming in.
Immigration from the southern border is also complicated by side issues. I got this in mail. I know that at least part of it is true.

As you know, one of the local ranchers was murdered in Douglas two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow. I received three messages similar to the one below from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement. Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people. He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won't read in the papers. The Border Patrol is afraid of starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico.
Bob Krentz was checking his water like he does every evening and came upon an illegal who was lying on the ground telling him he was sick. Bob called the Border Patrol and asked for a medical helicopter evac. As he turned to go back to his ATV he was shot in the side. The round came from down and angled up so they know the shooter was on the ground. Bob's firearm was in the ATV so he had no chance. Wounded he called the Cochise County Sherriff and asked for help. Bleeding in the lungs he called his brother but the line was bad so he called his wife but again the line was bad.
Several ranchers heard the radio call and drove to his location. Bob was dead by this time. The ranchers tracked the shooter 8 miles back towards Mexico and cornered him in a brushy draw. This was all at night. The Sherriff and Border Patrol arrived and told them not to go down and engage the murderer. They went around to the back side and if you can believe it the assassin managed to get by a BP helicopter and a Sheriff's posse and back to Mexico. So much for professional help when you need it.
One week before the murder Bob and his brother Phil (who I shoot with) hauled a huge quantity of drugs off the ranch that they found in trucks. One week before that a rancher near Naco did the same thing. Two nights later gangs broke into his ranch house and beat him and his wife and told them that if they touched any drugs they found they would come back and kill them. The ranchers here deal with cut fences and haul drug deliveries off their ranches all the time. What ranchers think is that the drug cartels beat the one rancher and shot Bob because they wanted to send a message. Bob always gave food and water to illegals and so they think they sent the assassin to pose as an illegal who was hungry and thirsty knowing it would catch Bob off guard.
What is going on down here is NOT being reported. You need to tell people how bad it is along the border. Texas is worse. Near El Paso it's in a state of war. 5000 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez last year and it's over 2000 so far this year. Gun sales down here are through the roof and I get emails from people wanting firearms training. Something has to be done but I don't hold out much hope. These gangs have groups in almost every city in the US . Please read below. This is serious business. The Barrio Azteca and their sub gangs are like Mexican Corporations and organized extremely well. If this doesn't get dealt with down here, you guys will deal with it on your streets.

Yup,,, same old story. Of course, if you're one of the many thousands of dead, it has become more personal. Heck, let's just ignore all the people who are tearing down society. The drug gangs are taking over Mexico. They are squeezing out every peso from the public. My friend, Tommy can't go back to his hometown near Durango. The trafficantes control most everything. They put his name up on a list that they posted in the Zocalo. They want to talk to him.
He had a close friend that was kidnapped at his rancho during a little fiesta. They found his body and a few others shoved off the local dam.
Kidnapping is going up like crazy. It's also moved across the border to where they are kidnapping Latinos on the north [and south] side of the border. My Salvadorian friends had to move their family out of Salvador. I suppose that while we're ignoring all the death and crime near the border, we should also ignore all the damage from the drugs produced at the Mexican-run crack houses.
Immigration is competition for resources. That's the main reason why the Mexicans are so tough on immigrants from Central America. I see no reason why illegal Mexicans in America should be treated any different than Illegal Guatemalans in Mexico. Just because somebody has a want or desire is not any justification for America [or Mexico] to give it to them.
I've been to Cuba and a couple dozen other poor coutries. Sure, all the poor want to live in a place with more resources. The accident of birth places one in a certain enviornment. There exists no right to a different enviornment.
"did william randolph hearst write the copy for you?"
Is there any purpose to your disparaging remarks? ,,, other than the obvious?
You haven't got anything logical to say to defend all the killings so, you try to be flippant and minimise the situation. You must not have a very high opinion of other readers.

You can't claim that immigrants are a positive asset if they are bring down parts of the economy. Over 80 hospitals have closed in the border states because they aren't allowed to refuse to serve people who can't or won't pay.
Sure, many of the latinos work and make money. Most of the Latinos that i know get free medical care and send their money to Mexico or Salvador.
What about the newly-emergent diseases form south of the border,,, and other countries;
"Even more chilling than hospitals collapsing concerns an increasing number of unchecked aliens importing diseases into the USA. In five years, 16,000 cases of multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis breached the Mexican border. In three years, 7,000 cases of leprosy (Hansen's Disease) arrived with immigrants from India, Brazil and the Caribbean. Tens of thousands of cases of hepatitis A transplanted into America. Another South American disease, affecting 14 million and killing 50,000 annually, Chagas Disease, a parasite that attacks the heart and other organs, invades U.S. borders in the bodies of the unchecked illegal aliens. "
http://www.alipac.us/article281.html
Of 400,000 illegal aliens ordered deported, 80,000 have criminal records. Quite a few "ticks" The Mexican gangs are running the drugs for the Mexican mafia. One has to look at the whole situation on balance. Nobody likes to rob poor people. Criminals come here because it's the land of opportunity. So I was told be an old Mexican in Puebla.

DVD, you did well-supported, analytical posts on the "israel, judaism, jews, zionism" thread I'll expect the same on the immigration thread.
BTW, I've been curious of what the results would be if these 2 threads were started on 'Tribe"

I make no racial reference in my statement.

I don't deny this, and, in previous statements, have acknowledged that, if they come here to work and contribute, should be welcomed

again,yes, and if they contribute, welcome, regardless of the size or type of contribution, as long as they are doing what they can, and, make a positive contribution.........

why would you, I didn't

They would be kicked out/gone just as I am now.
I was called racist and anti Jewish anti BLACK and anti white guy, HA HA HA HA HA, and all kinds of things.
They have different opinions now about me but I have been long gone from there.
I could have done the same with eplaya but BM is HOME!

I believe that if we keep it civil, informative and somewhat close to logical, we can explore any topic. The I J J Z thread was a risky try. I hoped that the thread could avoid the inflammatory crap. I was hoping to set a tone that would not invite attacks. Someone posted that they expected the "Nazi" accusation to appear.
There is a French saying that "War is failed diplomacy" One can always switch from diplomacy to war. It's impossible to switch from war to diplomacy until a sufficiently large number of people have been killed.
Thanks to everyone for avoiding a descent into flames on the I J J Z thread.
If a discussion is to be any value to the group, it has to be informative and logical. If it isn't logical, it isn't of any use. Same for information content. If we can adhere, Spock-like to those 2 ideas, we can hope to arrive at something close to the truth.
E-Playa is rolling along nicely,,, not because of the TOS. It's rolling along nicely because we value civility. Kudos to all of you.

This is an interesting article talking about the 'San Diego Plan.
They didn't mess around back in them days;
"There would be a no-quarter race war, with summary execution of all white males over the age of sixteen"
http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/onli ... /ngp4.html
"More destructive and disruptive was the near race war that ensued in the wake of the plan as relations between the whites and the Mexicans and Mexican Americans deteriorated in 1915–16. Federal reports indicated that more than 300 Mexicans or Mexican Americans were summarily executed in South Texas in the atmosphere generated by the plan."
It's always worked; divide and conquer.

Well, I haven't seen anything so I'll give you some stuff to refute. It came in mail. I'm sure that some of the sources are questionable. It's just a general summation of the claimed negative effects of illegal immigration.

Imagine a world without borders. Imagine one world government. Now this government makes sure everyone is treated fairly; same housing, same healthcare, same food, same transportation, same pay. Maybe we even talk the same language.
The above hypothetical scenario assures us there would be no wars and everything that makes us different would be destroyed, right? Would we be one big happy family? We would still be from different climates, cultures and traditions. Like-minded individuals would band together based upon what makes them alike. "Neighborhoods" would be established, "turf" would be defined, "rules" would be made, "lines" would be drawn.
Groups of people are made up of individuals who are "members" of families, tribes, races and/or dwellers of unique climatic conditions. No matter what may happen to bring us all together and make us have commonalities, there will always be sufficient humanity which insists on being separate, unique and sanctified.
Legal immigration is an individual asking permission to become part of a group other than what he currently belongs to. This individual dwells with his native group while seeking permission to join another group. This person does not leave his group without getting permission.
Illegal immigration is an individual trying to become a member of a group other than the group he currently belongs to without asking permission. This person dwells among the group of desire and enjoys all the benefits of being part of that group. This person might even prostitute himself in order to gain favor from the group of desire.
Amnesty is when the illegal immigrant is given permission after already dwelling with the group of desire. The individual gets to enjoy all the benefits of being part of that group without asking or being given permission while at the same time seeking permission. That is not the "back of the line" compared to the legal immigrant because he is already among the group of desire.

Trish,,, good analysis. "More benefits" is the central draw. Too many people seem to believe that if they want these benefits,,,, than, they deserve them. We all play the lottery of birth. TRUE equality is that we all have the ability to work hard to improve our situation. Cheating is just an effort to be more "equal" than the next person.

What and when did they feed him? I'm thinkin' part of the deal would involve some negotiation on those points to make sure both parties are satisfied.Ugly Dougly wrote:Some friends of mine tried to take one of those "Will Work For Food" guys on the corner up on his offer, even though they could have driven by Home Depot and scored any number of hard workers.
The panhandler was a worthless worker, really didn't do anything but sit around and complain.
Just saying.
I remember a panhandler hittin' me up on the street once and told me he needed to eat. So I bought him a hamburger in a sit-down restaurant and left. I got the feeling he woulda rather had the money.

Reportedly, there are 10 other states that want to pass laws similar to Arizona's law.
Also, there is a Pew poll on the law;
"Seventy-three percent said they backed a measure requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them, while 67 percent approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify that they are in the country legally."
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE64B4W820100512
The other element of the article talks about obummers ideas;
"Obama supports a system allowing undocumented immigrants in good standing to pay a fine, learn English and become citizens"
The English part is the deal-breaker. They have to work so, they can't go to ESL classes. The classes take years. In their daily lives , they're surrounded by lingual compadres. I've been to ESL classes. The orientals kick ass. The Latinas do OK. The latinos learn very slowly, as a rule. I translate for the guys around here. It generally takes them 8--10 years to absorb English,,, depending on the job.
