A small camp stove or propane grill will work fine. You do not want to mess with charcoal out there.blickablack wrote:im not sure what kinda grill i should bring to cook with.

Well, first off what you bringing to cook?
Canned foods? A $20 propane camp cylinder stove top and base and a sauce pan are all you need.
Fillet Mignonne with grilled, bacon wrapped asparagus, baked sweet potatoes and creme brullee with a nice Mendoza Malbec? Some kind of multi burner apparatus with grill tops and and oven.

Yeah, I assume you want to grill, to cooks chunks of dead animal. I don't grill. Too much work. I bring pregrilled chicken breast and thighs, both boneless and have them with various one pot pasta or rice boxes. I have a gas fridge and freeze, but my campmate brings his and keeps them on the block ice in his cooler. His last for days, keeping them directly on the ice.
Assume also this is not what you want. Another campmate, a virgin, will be bringing a grill. He is an avid charcoal griller, but will be bringing a Weber gas grill. Last year on a grill like this we had Korean spare ribs, tri tip, burgers... from one enthusiastic cook. This worked well, no mess and stayed lit with some mild winds.

That would be amazing on the playa! Can I come? What do you want me to bring? We'll do it pot luck style?CapSmashy wrote:I'm actually making plans on bringing my smoker out this year and probably making a brisket or two.
macaroni salad?
Last year my lack of real meat (by real I mean beef or pork that was not canned or in hot dog form) made me very irritable by the end of the week. I had vegetarian food our neighbors cooked, and spent almost the rest of the night in the john.
Why don't ya stick your head in that hole and find out? ~piehole

I hate to see a fellow carnivore suffer.
Don't worry about pot luck though, meat with a side of meat is good enough for me.

Nah, I'll bring something.... maybe.... the rest of BRC? Or just lots of beer? Or plates and Knives! I don't like to show up empty handed. I just don't have the means to cool and then cook large cuts of meat on the playa.CapSmashy wrote:Absolutely. =)illy dilly wrote:That would be amazing on the playa! Can I come?
