Yep, too bad about Victorian. She was a pretty bright flare here. There's always next year.

So, I got these shoes at a yard sale for free :) Spent a few hours blinging them out with my glue gun! Now they are all playa ready. And trust me, I used so much glue, nothing is coming off those suckers!

Just click on the link to see a few pics! :)

Thats really too bad! What is it that is holding her back? If its any of mine and the other thousands of peoples business.
Might it be possible to help her make it?

I put it on the Calendar last month. Knowing that no one will look at the calendar until a week before. And since at our company "everything must go on the calendar" and "the calendar is god" I'll be good to go!

@Bling: Your gypsy trailer is amazingly, incredibly epic. I will comb the playa all week looking for it. (or you can just tell me where you will be camped when/if you get placed :))

@Victorian: LIES! ALL LIES!! SAY IT AIN'T SO!! Damn girl you can't put in so much effort and be so ebulliant on here and then quit. Hope to see you make it next year!

Thanks! Our plan is to camp with the Snowflake Village--so that should nail it down a little bit. :D

We could send postcards from the playa to those who stay behind if those who know them do a bit of getting their snailmail addys into our hands.

Remember to set aside time to break in shoes. YOu don't want to rub blisters out there.

Yes, thanks Cryptofishist, good advice. I hope I got the right size on these. There was conflicting info about them running both a size big, and a size small?!? I went with the big and figure on wearing wicking socks with liners.

Everyone already knows, if you do get blisters apply ductape? It's low friction :)

Also I got these wicked mukluks

Image

a couple weeks ago, ostensably for work (I work in heels but we are allowed to wear these sometimes as a break), but also for shoving on to run to the Blue Palace in the middle of the night/early morning. I don't own a single pair of boots that don't require a bunch of lacing up, and if it's cold and i'm all warm and wearing socks I don't want to put on flip-flops like I would in the day.

I just read that using BodyGlide on your FEET can help prevent blisters. We don't use duct tape--we use Transpore tape (3M makes it). It's clear plastic with lots of perforated holes in it, and works great to PREVENT blisters. You just put it on any spot that rubs, and it acts like a second skin. If you already have a blister, it will protect the skin. Good stuff! Drugstores carry it for about $3/roll. :D

I got them at a local store, they are pretty true-to-size. Yes, they are that expensive, cuz they are real bunny fur with nice proper vibram soles.

They go up to a women's 11 (mens 9.5), but check ebay too. they are pretty damn popular lately. And warm.

men's size 12, but no rubber soles :(

This is not from today, but I needed to share.

It is a dress from hot topic that I have been watching. Retails for $62, which no way was I going to pay. But then it went on clearance for 50% off and then HT had their half off the clearance prices, and I found it in my size! So, I got it for about $15! :)

If you join their silly little card club, they send emails when those sales will be and you can get the discount about three days before everyone else.

Too bad I'm too fat to wear their clothes for the most part. But MyLarry gets all his boots from HT.

Yes, we did join it a few months back. I got the email about going in a few days before, but, didn't even think about my dress or going. haha I just happened to be at the mall for another reason and went in. And trust me, I barely fit into their clothes! But, shoes and accessories are awesome. And, my daughter loves their make up.

Speaking of sales. The REI anniversary sale is this week, May 21st to 31st.
Hopefully they have some good stuff on sale, and it being on sale actually makes it worth it. Last REI sale I went to, stuff was still over priced.
