The clocks's setting is accurate, at 5:10 on thursday, in 2006.
There was a small piece of reflective crap on the back of the box, but it didn't cover the whole thing.

A reminder: Keep the snark down to a dull roar in the Q & A, the introductions and Share resources. Serious answers first please, hold the snark until the question is answered in a useful manner. When tickets get going, please don't bury the legitimate posts with responses to the miracle posts. The current 2010 ticket thread is wide open, but we'll get to the serious threads soon enough.

If you feel a post is in the wrong place, drop me or 007 a PM. Same for cross-posting.

Please do not respond to spammers or threads promoting a commercial transaction, report them in the death to spammers thread, or case studies. Whichever floats your boat. Please do not clutter up the feedback forums with chatter.

I thought I would bump this for the newcomers and the forgetful eplayans.

There are certain forums where informative answers and replies are the most useful. This would be the Q&A, tickets and the Share Resources.

I know, the ticket forum gets the begging posts. After a serious reply about the low income and scholarship programs, if a conversation springs up, so be it. But if someone is selling a ticket, helpful replies are the most appropriate. Share Resources is having too many snarky replies for the sake of snark. No, I don't want to squash conversations, but I also do not the threads hijacked by comedians. I posted a couple mod notes on a couple threads. Seriously, Share Resources is one of the few forums where the old posts are thinned because that's where the limited time posts belong (sales, rideshare, RVs). If I have to wade through three pages of witticisms, trying to decide of the thread has merit, again and again, I get cranky. Keep it Open Discussion or Experiences or Politics and Philosophy.

Q&A has been pretty much on track, thank you.

I do not have an efficient way to address the eplaya population as a whole, so I'm trying it here. Just show some restraint, please!

If you want to plonk someone and desire to know their socks for plonking purposes, I have no problem doing that via PM as long as the info is not shared beyond that.

But really, you can usually tell with most socks if you've been around the board long enough.

Well, for example, there is one particular user who would at times have an entire thread filled with conversations with his own socks. The practice dates all the way back to Benjamin Franklin who would pen "letters" to his own paper under various names in order to pretend certain positions were more popular than they really are. People also do it on line when they feel they need support or validation of some viewpoint, their sockpuppets stand by to chime in at just the right moment.

One of the most recent examples is a person blogging by the name "Tom Johnson" in the blogs at Discover Magazine.

Maybe this is just the getting up from a needed nap me speaking, but that seems like way too much work for far too little. But to each their own.
