When do ice sales start?

When do ice sales start?

Post by Dork » Tue Jun 15, 2004 3:29 pm

It looks like I'll be doing pre-event volunteer work this year which means 5 days of living on the playa before the gates open to the masses.

When do ice sales begin? First thing Monday morning? Several days before or after? Anyone know?

I'm trying to figure out how many days I need to be prepared for and how much stuff I should have camp mates bring to me the following week.

I think there was something mentioned in the Afterburn Report from Camp Arctica about when they opened etc last year.

Ice sales

.
I'm volunteering at Camp Artica (ice sales) and have been in contact previously with the project lead. I've e-mailed her and asked that she respond, as I am not able to give you more than a guess

Camp Arctica hours

Post by icequeen » Wed Jun 16, 2004 12:38 pm

Officially, we open to the ice buying public Monday morning at 9am.

The hours for the week are:

Mon thru Fri: 9am - 9pm
Sat and Sun: 9am - 6pm
Mon post burn: 9am - noon

Unofficially, we have an on the spot training session Sunday from 12-3. If you need ice on Sunday you are welcome to stop in, but be patient as the registers are being emptied of the last years playa dust and the new volunteers are gathered more to learn the ins and outs.

Hope that helps!

If you're there that early, why not take off for half an hour, pop into Gerlach, and buy it there then drive back to the playa?

Thanks everyone! I'll make sure I'm set up to make it that long.
