This will be burn the 1st for me. I live in Hamilton Canada. I am meeting someone who has done this before in BRC, but I am flying in from Buffalo, with two layovers. In Reno I am under the impression shopping and getting to the burn is gonna be the easy part, but in order to get home afterwards, I must get to Los Angeles where I can meet family, then hop a jet pointed north [east].

Is there anyone who could kindly give me a feeling for the odds of my finding a fellow burner to hitch/pitch-in for a return to LA post-exodus?

there should be rideshare threads starting up soon.....watch those. Also, some post on Craigslist.

It's more likely if you're willing to obey the "rules of the road", for a ride........

and, if you have several layovers on your way to BRC, make sure the last stop is Reno................

Once you get established at BRC... Maybe a day after arrival. Go to playa info and register your self in the computer with your exact BRC address, real name, playa name, camp description and that you are "looking for a ride to Los Angeles L.A. LA." Some kind soul may be looking to give a ride and be able to find you by searching there.

Network throughout the week. If worst comes to worse you can always stand in the exodus line with an improvised sign. Many many people are headed to LA after the event.

Be somewhat clean and offer an appropriate amount in cash compensation for the ride.

You are planning on arriving on monday so you have the entire week....Right? Definitely recommended.

can i get some clarification on exactly what "the rules of the road" are for burners?

also, this being my first time, and not having a full drivers licence, i am not in a position to rent anything. in compensation for passage to longbeach i can offer but levity, proficiency in the field of handiness, some music and likely, a hundred dollar bill.

Rideshares will start going up soon. Also check Craigslist and any other places that might have them. Have a back up plan and be considerate of any driver cramming stuff into their car.
