Wigs in LA

Hello, Hello!

This is my first post (although I read eplaya about 3 times a day...when I should be working of course

)

Anyhow, I've also had similar questions (like Victorian and others) about how to handle my long hair while on the playa and a friend who is a 5-yr. burner recommended wigs as the best to keep all the dust and alkaline from ruining my tresses.

So my question is, does anyone know of any good places to buy wigs in LA? I'm hopefully looking for a store with a wide selection of styles and colors (blue, orange, etc.)

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

I also Googled it. Was just curious if anyone had experience with any place in particular (prices, selection, etc.) Especially before I make the dreaded journey over the hill from the SF Valley.

Wigs get trashed on the playa. Something about the dust and the wind that just makes them tangle and get funky. Plus, they're freaking hot. I have a couple which survived, they're curly and I could beat the dust out of them, but the straight ones were never the same. Don't bring expensive ones until you have a good firsthand experience.

Wigs are HOT. Plus the stuff you'd need to keep it on your head, in the wind. Maybe at night...but still. Too much hassle for this long-haired woman.

There are two or three wig shops on Hollywood Blvd between Vine St and Highland. You can't miss them.
