Burning in the conclave for the first time! Manchester, UK

Post by frenchy » Thu Jun 10, 2010 6:26 am

Hey guys!!!

Its my first time at burning man, and were bringing our fire show to perform at the conclave! Cant wait to come and join you all!

And yes i have an English northern accent... and its great... and you will understand me just fine im sure :-)

Look for the red and purple dreadded hula lady with the big grin and the wide eyes....

Question for veterans... Socks and sandals... does that prevent the dust or do i need to be wearing shoes?

Much burny love

Socks seem to keep the blowing dust off your feet. The dust can get kind of deep though (several inches in spots) so you probably need shoes to keep that off your feet.

People seem to have different sensitivity to the dust. I used to run around camp barefoot, and never had an issue. Remembering to wipe your feet a couple times a day is key. Also, bring a pair of something comfortable and well broken in that isn't sandals, in case you find you can't. Some people also swear by multiple pairs of socks a day.
