OK... this started a long time ago. I noticed people saluting me.
For a while I figured that this was just their way of saying goodbye to someone. Then I noticed on other occasions that the same people saying good bye to other people would wave bye bye, then look at me and give me a single salute.
It was the weirdest thing and it's still going on. I mentioned this to my wife before we got married and she laughed and said that because I was tuned into it, I noticed it more often.
That made sense until years later when my wife saw first hand what I was talking about when we were in a supermarket.
As we were leaving I caught the eye of a woman who was closing up her cash register. I just looked at her, I didn't say a word.
She looked at me, brought her finger tips to her forehead and gave me a single salute with a tip of her head. I turned to my wife... she saw it too!
We cracked up laughing... it continues to this day.
At ease.

Here's something else to chew on...
I was saying goodbye to a fellow that I had just met at a party.
From across the room I caught the guys eye and waved goodbye... the guy gave me a salute.
Now I've also thought that some people always give a salute and that this guy might be one of them so I walked back over to him and said... "Do you usually salute someone to say good bye"? He said... "Gee that's strange... I don't."
It's weird.
I'm not into the military, I don't have dreams about the military. It's just weird.
