Playa conditions for 2010?

is the ground gonna be hard packed? seems like it rained more this year, no? wondering if bike riding is gonna involve cruise control or bunny hops over playa sand traps.

oh yeah! i expect a full report with pictures, graphs, samples, and a whole pile of whatnot.

We were out there this previous weekend camping.

many pictures were taken, but this one pretty much sums up the current Playa condition.

it seems that no matter how much rain the playa gets, all it is doing is making a nice thick crust that easily crumbles. Over the years all of the dust that we have been kicking up has taken it's toll, and I doubt that the Playa will ever return to the hard-panned Playa of the past that we loved ever again.
