I was wanting a silent worship, and possibly a BRC Meeting who would be willing to have care of a Quaker wedding on the playa.
Any individuals or camps out there who would be interested in joining or hosting?
Quakers/Friends attending 2010?
Not as unlikely as one might think!
A dear friend of mine is active in the Quakers, so I happened to notice in the What-Where-When in 2006, that there was a Friends Meeting, open to all, at the still-hot embers of the Man, Sunday morning 5:30 to 6:30. Repeat, this information is from 2006.
The only contact info was: "Hosted by: At the remains of the Man."
I have only attended a few meetings, years ago when visiting England. As an observer, I liked them, liked the absence of preaching, and my true attempt to quiet myself, and wait for something to come to me. There is rare quiet on the playa, early in the morning perhaps. This sounds very interesting to me.

Yeah, I've heard that there have been Quakers on the playa before, but I'm not finding anything current, so I thought I'd put out feelers.
The Amish gathering will probably be fun, but not exactly what I'm seeking. The current backup plan is to do a soft version of the wedding, pulling in a day full of passers-by to bear witness. :-)
