SAY GOODBYE TO REDLIGHT CAMERAS, CALIF.....

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Wed Jun 23, 2010 6:32 pm

Yeah!!!! One of the good things about this immigration thing is a boycott of Arizona companies included the company that installs, manages and upkeep of all the cameras at all the red lights. When the boycott was announced, it seems we could not get anyone else competent enough to replace them, so we imposed a delay for 10 months while we look for another company. Well it appears that the company in question, took exception are now going to cancel all of Calif and it's contracts. So it may mean no more Camera cops at lights. I have gotton one and believe me they are expensive. Good riddenace...

Hey, wait I work those so called Bastards. If I didn't get you for a front plate(CA requirement),then the red lights couldn't see who you are from the front.By the way in the SF Bay area.....a red light cite is about $450,but that depends on the city. But then I'll find something else to cite you for.The Inflictor of financial burden.

............ WHY? .........

Post by Rabbi Dali Rick » Thu Jun 24, 2010 1:56 am

the fees have gotten so outrageous I don't know how they think people can afford it. They give them out so nonchalantly it boggles the mind. I seen some as high as $12-1,500, and in some cases it can be more than two or three months of salary of some of the people in the court.

That Rabi is one of the problems that I have with the government entities of my beloved home state they seem to mismanage ALL of their funds and resources then they nonchalantly just past the "savings" down to the poor bastard who's having a hard time keeping his head above water without getting slammed with those kinda fines. Money no longer grows on trees in cali or anywhere else for that matter, these guys need to be a little more realistic when punishing "offenders". Not that long ago I remember when a cop would give you a bunch of shit, but every now and then they would let you slide with a warning, not anymore. They are out to get some straight up revenue these days whether you can afford it or not, tough shit! On top of it all they are outsourcing these camera cop jobs to other states, dont we have people qualified enough to do this right here at home??? Anywho, some of these folks out there just need to get a clue! ..(foaming at the mouth)

Ugly,I wasn't referring so much to true/ blatant violations as I was to these guys handing out chicken-shit tickets over any infraction no matter how small and insignificant. That's what chaps my ass :x (cell phone, front plate, tinted windows, speeding on roads and freeways in early hours when there is absolutely no one in sight)

Oh BTW, did you guys know that you don't have to pay those camera tickets? they mail you a ticket, which is unconstitutional...there is that part about getting to face yer accuser. Now if you pile up a bunch of photo tickets they may send someone to serve you the ticket, in which case yer fucked.

Moral:

Don't pay those tickets. And if you have a bunch, don't answer yer door.

I never go out without my hat and sunglasses. I mail the ticket back saying driver unknown as 10 or 12 people drive that car. No I cant tell for sure who that is officer. 10 speed camera tickets and counting (they trigger at +11 mph)....havent had to pay one yet. Some states are holding the cars owner responsible no matter whos driving, but not here.

I did have to appear on one where they refused to believe me. The guy for the ticket company was retired fbi who was the body gaurd for the judge in the watergate investigations. and blew the picture up real big and clear. Still couldnt make a positive id because of the hat and sunglasses. case dismissed, but they charge me a $29 surcharge.

I ran a red light too last year, and got a picture of myself in the mail. No ticket, I looked at the letter thoroughly. So why the fuck did they bother to send a picture if they're not going to charge me? Puzzlin'.

I've had more than a few 'bored cop' tickets on my mini-truck, no front plate/ rear plate not to the rear of the vehicle (it's on the bed rail), illegal lighting/modified lighting/tint/adjustable suspension/stereo/too low/destruction of public property (dragging frame)/obstructed view..etc...They're bullshit cause I do what I need to do to get it signed off then put it back the way it was, except the stereo or dragging frame tix.

Dougly - that video definitely makes me linger at green lights, looking both ways before entering the intersection.
The impacted motorcycles are the hardest to watch for me.

Nevada has the highest rate of tickets for drivers running orange lights.

It is amazing how the red light cameras caused none of those accidents to actually happen. What an important safety tool they are, by photographing events as they happen, things that were photographed, literally, never happened, amazing.

Heck, you can't even argue that the cameras reduced the number of light runners, as you can see, lots of people still running lights.

Evidence collection for traffic accidents is nice though.

And... I lol'd a little at the two fire engines playing chicken.

I believe it, Vegas is really bad, running orange lights is sport, I've witnessed some serious nastiness on a couple of occasions down there. Oregon drivers and Vegas drivers are a really bad mix. Both accidents involved this combo. Reno's getting there. I wish they'd do something about the driving texters, phone is bad enough but do ya really need to text?? Arghhhh! I see this every day now,,,seriously, you can't pull over or wait until your getting where your going? They charge CDL holders something like $2K (don't quote me but I know it's up there) for doing it. I think it should apply to everyone.

I wonder if that is even legal under interstate commerce laws.

As for texting while driving, it wasn't so much of a problem before touchscreen phones. You could text by touch until the iphone.

There's a bunch of stuff that falls under that for the CDL holders, stuff like Quallcomm's, laptops etc.

Still, even by touch, it can't wait until you get somewhere?.....Really?? I see this stoopid chick every morning on my way to work with her forearms on her steering wheel texting away, driving like a moron. Ugggh.

Cameras violate due process.
If you aren't informed immediately, how can you remember the exact circumstances?

And no effect on the actual people running red lights.
Only police presence has an effect on them.

Any guesses why they don't extend yellow times, which has been shown to reduce accidents and red light running?

Rear end accidents way up at all camera intersections here, like everywhere else.

After being hit at an intersection, when the light turns yellow, first thing I do is check my mirrors, before I touch the brakes.
So I often "run" yellow lights.
Becomes more important as traffic intensifies.

If I get one of these tickets, I intend to ask for a jury trial.

They have been shot at, bludgeoned, set on fire and uprooted by 4x4s. Bricks have been hurled, paint sprayed and Gordon Ramsay has suggested wrapping clingfilm around their lenses.

Speed cameras must be the most assaulted pieces of street furniture in the land. Last year, vandals caused almost £800,000-worth of damage to them in 14 of the UK's 38 regional safety camera partnerships, it was reported yesterday. (Note the language: for the government they are "safety" cameras; for the motorist they remain "speed" cameras.) The damage bill was more than double what it had been in the same 14 regions for 2004.
