That's the thing, right? but I can't find a bike that cheap that I would even want to ride. I think with some babying and a good cleaning job after, everything will be fine :)

Besides, if people spend thousands on art cars and shade structures, I'm ok with spending a bit on a bike that will look AMAZING when I'm done with it :)

What's up with all this "hot glue doesn't work on the playa" myth?

100% Playa Chicken!

The glue in the hobby grade glue gun melts at 250F. If you are just trying to attach stuff for clothing, I guarantee you that any failure of the bond is not due to high temperature. Lousy job at gluing, probably.

Hot glue is fine for costumes unless you expect to be in heat greater than 250F for several minutes needed for the glue to re-melt.

Hot glue WILL melt if you try to use it for gluing a hood ornament on the hood of your car. The hood will heat up past 250F in the sun. Don't use it for that.

If all you are doing us attaching rhinestones, a rose or some other silly thing to your bra or cod-piece, hot glue is perfect. Unless your junk enjoys temperatures that cause third degree burns, the glue ain't melting.

Hot Glue for everyone!

THIS is all you need and you can find it at most hardware stores. It's cheap, doesn't need to be heated up, dries clear overnight and remains flexible in all weather conditions. I have bras glued onto my car that have been there for 8 years and have never come off.

I've seen some very nice bikes at my local goodwill store. usually they cost around 50 dollars. I think "oh, Burning Man!" and a voice in my head says, "YOU DO NOT NEED ANOTHER BIKE" I got a Novaro road bike there that was so clean, I doubt it had even been outdoors much... 50 bucks.

Local garage sales = cheap bikes.

Where do you guys live?? All the bikes i've found at garage sales lately were skinny little fixies that need new tires and derailers and go up my butt.

I think the issue with hot glue is that a lot of it is "cool melt" so you don't injure yourself on it...

I've used a lot of differenet glues on diferent projects, but after unknowingly spilling Goop (first time user) on our front room carpet and letting it dry, I thought maybe this might be my last and final project.

However the more I pulled on it, the more it stretched and released from the carpet and finally poped loose, no mess no cutting. "Stretch and Release" :D

Yep. Ditto.

Not much to do really.
Most of my stuff is already in the trailer.
Truck takes a day to load.
I'm not into the whole costume thing.

Other than food prep, I wait till Thursday to begin packing.

I have been waffling on what bed to get/take. Considering my back problems, i wanted something comfortable.

Got this off freecycle today. And, it was only used twice. :) Its a little lower to the ground than i wanted, but, it will do!
