awww, you guys. Thanks, really. There's always next year.
It's more personal commitment - for me to be responsible to the job I signed up for, I don't think I can make it to the dust. I told my boss in Feb that I was taking the week off and I think I could insist on it, but it probably won't be the right thing to do.
I may get creative and figure out a way to come out for a day or three, or figure out a way to delegate the whole thing, but for now - 70% against.

*addressed to SD boss*
Sir;
I take pen in hand, and put it to parchment, this day, to attract your attention and elicit consideration and cognition, related to my plea.
To Wit:
It is our firm hope, and, ethereal intention, to have SD attend TTITD, for the first week, or so, of September, 2010.
His position, as "Clown Master" dictates the need for his attendance.
I implore you, to, consider that thousands of participants, nay, humanity itself, will have their experience, if not life, lessened by his is absence.
As a gesture to humanity, and world understanding, it would seem reasonable to excuse him from his duties, for these moments in time.
And, considering it's possible effect on world events, it could easily propel you to a position on the world stage, as, the enabler of his attendance and the resultant jubilation of thousands for the gift of his presence.
I submit this missive, in the hopes you will see it as a plea, for you to do what is right, for the "greater good"
Respectfully submitted:
Ygmir Tunn
PS:
If you choose to ignore my plea, and the pleas of the masses........
fuck off.

second rinse. I remember dashing outside sometimes, and sometimes just saying, "second rinse" It would rain like the dickens for 10 minutes, and then full sun and humidity (yuck) right after.ygmir wrote:the fruit cocktail keeps me going.......................
haha, funny, how I was sitting here, appreciating hearing it rain.......then realizing my laundry is/was hanging outside on the line..........
hahhaa, a refreshing spritz.

Hey, GH, good news about your dad! SD's boss, "Let my person go"
Short stay to get into the NEB for a bit of a snooze until its time to hit the dreaded yellow ball. Did you all hear about the match at Wimbledon that went on for 11 hours and five minutes? Saw the last 1.5 hours of it and it was awesome. Set all kinds of records, and the amazing thing is that the two guys were playing incredible tennis till the very end. Isner beat Mahut 70-68 in the 5th set. The next day, unsurprisingly, the winner lost his next match in a bit over an hour, almost unable to move.
BTW, last evening I got my Playa Clay out of the glaze firing (2100 degrees F) and it came out very dark brown and very shiny. Must be a very high silica content.
Snooooze

*strolls in, makes coffee*

hi guys..........glad to hear your dad is doing ok GH.........
Yeah, GH, I'd imagine using a torch would add lots of oxidizers and such, while the lens might be more benign.
I bet Marty's kiln would make for the least chemical changes........it'll be interesting to hear how pure playa dust fires, without separating.
\
well.........time for the coffee and ROS........
and, of course, it is Saturday morning........
