Gifting Rebar
A customer of mine mistakenly ordered 100 pcs of #6 (3/4") reabr cut into 4 ft lengths. He realized he needed a smaller size and when I asked him what he wanted to do with them he said I could keep them. Well that got me to thinking that this might be a nice gift for folks who need rebar for their structures. Two things can happen here. One: If you're in the SF Bay Area and would like to get some drop me a PM and you can swing by to pick some up. Otherwise I will bring what I have to the playa and will post my location in advance so that anyone needing some can come by and get them. They have a taper on one end and I will have them in 16" to 24" sizes. They are straight pcs only (no bends) so you"ll have to protect the tops yourself.

Dr Helix, it's very nice of you to think of this use, instead of scrapping that rebar. 100 pieces is a lot of rebar. A thought for you would be to grind the burrs off the ends to prevent the major slices that occure to people in the dark.
With 100 rods this may not be feasable, but I grind a point on one end and heat the other and candy cane it. Then I paint the candy caned end with safety orange paint. If someone trips over it, they get a bump and not a major injury.
Just some thoughts.

Have already committed some of it to a theme camp coming from NY. I will clean it up but don't know if I'll have time to candy cane it. With an MV to refurbish, my own large art project ("Heart Of The City") and a theme camp to get set up I'm pushed for time. Got three trucks hauling the gear up so we should be able to spread the weight around.
