Greetings,
My two adult sons bought tickets for my birthday! We are bringing a small pop top 1982 Toyota RV and need some ideas or assistance with a creative paint job or decoration. Thanks Upbeat
Sacramento/Davis 1st timer- RV painting ideas
Welcome, I would consider saving the decorations and painting if temporary until you're on the playa, that way you don't have to suffer discrimination or any unwanted searches on the way to BRC by law enforcement. Crazy stuff painted all over ur rig will no doubt look cool but may attract unwanted attention by LEOs. If you save it for the playa you'll have a blast doing that with campmates and or neighbors, may even attract some really good painters/artists and the creative juices will surely be flowing! That's just my two cents on the subject, do as you wish (some settling make occur during shipping, individual results may vary).
Sooner or later, it will get real strange...

My whole rig is intentionally "normal" looking so as not to attract attention on the road. The only police contact I've had in many years of BM trips has been assistance when I had problems.
If you wanna make your setup "burnier" I'd suggest creating a way to cover it while on the playa. If you provide a little extra air space and use the right material, you'll have the added benefit of extra cooling.

I've got one BM sticker (last years, small) on the back of my trailer other than that it looks like I borrowed it from my grandpa and the truck looks just like any other. Besides the weird bikes and the bed overflowing with shit, I'm just another dude going camping for the holiday.

If you're headed to BRC right before BM with a bunch of weird decorated bikes and gear overflowing, it might not take much to figure it out, especially as you get closer. If I had the artistic ability in that area I might have my rig more lively. I drive the speed limit, minus 1 through towns, and what are you smuggling, anyway? That's a good idea about doing it on the playa. Stake drop cloths down and have a party. But unless you're going to the Gerlach fire hose car wash, you'll be driving a party bus home.
