I bought striped leggings, but they're MIA, along with our other bike light. WTF? We spent a couple of hours in the staging room last night unpackaging things & sorting them into bins! Now we have bins for:
-- Tools
-- Batteries
-- Lighting
-- First aid
-- Skin care
-- Costumes (these are 4x the size)

And I ordered extra contact lenses for the Playa through Vision Direct online. You save the 20% markup the eye MD office charges--and they even check on your script and correct it if you get it wrong! Pretty happy with them so far!

Well, you've got striped clothing, you are alll set!

I remember my first piece of black and white striped clothes...ah. I felt so burnery...

(maybe black and white stripes isn't as much of a joke outside of the SE burner scene...)

I got one more drop in my fund bucket today...

OH crap.
I broght a parasol in 08, tried it once, too involved with wind drag.
Admittedly, I was not at a walking pace. Am now trying to figure out how to use nail polish and an exacto-knife to make it less substantial.
Which is my way of saying, I should have read this thread better and told you about that. It may not matter, but it may.

So you're saying you want to slit holes into your parasol and then finish the edges with nail polish so they don't fray? Is that what you mean?

That is exactly what I meant.
I can do that this afternoon, perhaps.

You can buy stuff made to finish frayed edges, to keep them from unraveling.

Parasols and the playa, fabulous idea, not always great in action. Too windy to count on as your primary source of head shade. I gave up on them.

We cut holes in the canopy over our rhoadescar. Crescents, and I reinforced the edges with acrylic paint. Still a sail, but not as bad as without the holes.

Maybe the answer is to strip down existing umbrellas and recover with Aluminet or shade cloth.

for melting into bowls... not the Mikado, and not Big Tiny Little. They should be blasted into space and let aliens wonder who the hell we are here. Both seriously worth a listen in my book, well, at least the Mikado.

Thanks for the lovely compliments everybody.

It's stretchy velvet with tiny reflective circles, $2.00 a yard at Joann's in the bargain bin :) . I bought it all obviously tee hee
I modified the tutorial "underskirt" by making a 3 inch folded waist band then started my tulle down from that. I made a halter top to match .

My item for today: new radiator in my car. I was driving today and developed a GIANT hole in it. Good thing it happened here and not on my way to the playa! Now the car will be in tip top shape for the drive.

My item/s for the last two days, returning lots of stuff that didn't work or wasn't right for our needs. I suppose it's part of the process but damn it's a drag. Tomorrow I hope to stencil some patterns onto my platform work boots.
